In August of 2022, my wife(74yrs.) had knee replacement surgery on her left knee by a Doctor in our 413 area. From the get-go she knew something was wrong. To make a long story short, she had practically little range of motion and had extreme pain when moving it. An infection ensued and subsequently she went into septic shock and almost died. For two years, following her surviving her ordeal, we(family) tried to convince her to have it removed and replaced. She wanted no part of it and we couldn’t fault her. Someone told us about Dr. David Ramsden in Natick and what a wonderful job he did on the revision surgery he performed. My wife finally decided that she would have a go. Dr. Ramsden operated on her on 6/26/25. He removed the old apparatus and replaced it with a new one. A week later, she knew that she had made the right decision. Today(10/1/25) she’s doing great and walking without pain with almost full range of motion. She feels so good that she is planning on having Dr. Ramsden perform knee replacement surgery on her right knee, in the not too distant future! We are so grateful to Dr. Ramsden for giving my wife her mobility back. But unfortunately, for me, she’s back walking the shopping malls! My mom had 2 TKR and within 5 days after discharge while walking she heard a snap and felt pain in her lft knee. She was brought to ER, and X-rays showed a patella fracture. The next day Ramsden repaired the fractured patella. He wired the patella together and put her in a brace. At 2-week appt., he informed us the surgery failed, and the wires had broken. Within 3 weeks the rt patella fractured. Within a week, the wires from the 1st repair, broke through the skin and needed emergency surgery to remove hardware. She had a bone infection due to the wires breaking through the skin. After this surgery she was placed in a full leg cast for 3 months. Soon after we were told that she would need to go to a LTC facility, and she would never walk again. I provided Dr. Ramsden with the feedback from 2nd surgeon. The feedback was, he shouldn’t have resurfaced her patella’s, he resurfaced too much, and he said she should have been casted following the repair. This has been a devastating experience

I was referred to Dr. Ramsden by my arthritis doctor. Both my knees were full of arthritis and I was carrying pounds of water on my knees. I could not walk as the pain was prohibitive . I needed two full knee replacements. Dr. Ramsden explained everything and took my anesthesia concerns seriously . He replaced both knees in a 4 month timeframe painstakingly clearing out the arthritis. I have excellent range of motion and barely noticeable Scars. He is amazing…

My experience with DR Ramsden and his staff was excellent. Everyone was available to help when needed and answer questions. The Dr and staff were efficient and knowledgeable , kind and patient. They treated me as if I was the only patient they had. I was well prepared for the surgery-before and after- and had a very quick recovery!! Dr Ramsden is the best!!!
