Biography
Constantine Athanasuleas, MD (known as Dr. A) was born and raised in Chicago. He is a graduate of the college and medical school of the University of Chicago and received his training in cardiothoracic surgery at Stanford University. He practiced at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama from 1982 to 2008. From 2008 to 2023, Dr. A was Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Currently, he performs all aspects of cardiothoracic surgery at North Alabama Medical Center. Athanasuleas is board-certified in cardiothoracic surgery and is a senior member of the American Association of Thoracic Surgery and Society for Thoracic Surgery.
