Ratings for Dr. Stephen A. Hightower
The one star is for the PA because Dr Hightower barely spend any time with me. The PA is the only decent one there. The staff were all horrible. The first visit was not eventful. After a long wait, I had to drag answers out of Dr. Hightower and his PA. For a newly diagnosed pt with kidney stone, service and information was minimally provided. The second visit was more horrible, the staff has this real apathetic attitude. I had another appointment and asked not to delay my appointment to see the PA. They made me wait another 15 minutes. When I got in, I saw most of the rooms were empty. They lied. Everyone worked as slow as they could. I just needed the PA to confirm on the X ray that the kidney stone was still there. I saw it on my PC already. Another 15 min passed because it's on a CD not on film. Then It took another 5 minutes to just make an appointment. I saw how they treated other patients while I waited needlessly. This is not the place I want to go back for a procedure if needed. Besides, the parking is far away. The parking lot attendance was the only one that acted like a human being. I will never know if Dr. Hightower is a good doctor but I trust my judgement he could not be that good when people surrounded him are such an imbeciles. Searching google and heath grade now. I am sure they are not the only game in town. Btw, I got the best PPO insurance there is. Primary and supplemental. Your lost.
I have been seeing this MD for over one year and it’s been simply for medication management. I am a strong advocate for my health and like to ask questions with my plan of care. It feels as if I did not pose questions then the 15 minute allotted consultation time would be much even less. The office staff is often very rude and simply does not empathize with patients coming into the office for treatments. They are adamant about dictating the open appointment times for you instead of trying to be accommodating of your schedule. There are no call reminders to update you of pending appointments, which may demonstrate the lax attitude of the office. One particular office/MD assistant has little care for patient privacy by the loud tone of voice she exerts when speaking to patients with a number of patients in the reception room. I will have hurdles to bear in order to find another MD but that is my only way out of this specialist care and terrible customer service from office staff.
Dr Hightower performed my Vasectomy and I'm still in pain 9 mo later. I was black and blue for weeks after the surgery. I went back to see the doctor due to the pain. They charged me for the visit. I tried to dispute and the Doctor dodged my calls. He did not have the common courtsey to call me even once. I would not recommend Dr Hightower to anyone.
