Ratings for Dr. Robert E. Meredith
I wish I had nothing but good to say. I was a last minute patient. I thought he seemed ok at my pre-op and during my hospital stay. At my two week checkup he was fine. At my six week check up I had some legitimate fears and I felt like he tried to turn it into a joke. He laughed it off and then proceeded to humiliate me. His comments were totally inappropriate and I will not be seeing him again. Also as I was taken to a room the nurse stated she had no idea why I was there. I thought charts existed for a reason. I had to tell her what clothing needed to be removed. I was in a lot of anxiety and it didn't help the situation in the least. I would definitely see someone else in the future. Dr's need to have compassion.
Dr. Meredith is a great doctor. At my 39 week checkup, he told me we should induce because of my high blood pressure. He didn't make me feel scared or nervous about it; it was more like, "Let's have a baby today! It'll be great!" I was pretty disappointed that he wouldn't be on-call for my delivery because I had come to feel safe under his care. Anyways.Gentle, upbeat, positive, caring. Everything you'd want in an OB/GYN. I can't rate him based on delivery, but as far as checkups go, he's top notch.
What a joke. For my first born, he came to check up on me after my c-section and asked me where my baby was...He was 5 weeks premie and was in the NICU. he couldn't check backgrounds before he came into the room? What an insensitive line of questioning when my little one is hooked up to IV's and breathing machines. And for my second baby, he tried to prescribe me a diabetic medicine to keep my blood sugars down. only problem was he didn't check my blood sugar, ask for a record of my blood sugar rating or anything. Didn't even test me for GD. My numbers were never above 120 after 2 hours. Far below in fact. Thanks for nothing.
I love this Dr! He is personable, funny, and really listens to you. Wonderful bedside manner. When he comes in the room he will answer your questions, no matter how long it takes! He makes you feel like you're his only patient all day! He cares and has a personal interest in you. He types everything out of your mouth on his lap top and it is so reassuring to know he's REALLY listening. When I was worried that my husband and I had been trying to get pregnant for awhile he asked ME what I thought we should do. You and him are a partners in your health together. My husband thinks he is awesome, we highly highly recommend!
Dr Meredith is the cream of the crop of doctors. He is funny, sensitive, and understanding. He never rushes you, and answers all of your questions. When I had my daughter he encouraged me to be induced on my due date. I am so grateful for that because my daughter was 9 lbs 13 oz and if I had waited I probably would have had to have a c-section. My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed having him as our doctor. Also, I did a lot of research on doctors before I chose one. II asked a lot of nursing teachers at BYUI and a lot of women who have had babies in Rexburg before and I never heard anything other than the highest praise for him. If I could have him be my doctor again, I would without a doubt. His staff is also very friendly and helpful. The office is a comfortable setting that really put me to ease as well.
