For more than 25 years Dr. Flegel has been an excellent source of information and care for my aches and pains. A problem not in his domain he will provide a referral to one who has the expertise. I could not be happier with another physician.

An arrogant and, at times, bad-tempered practitioner who frequently misread lab results and who also abused his position of power vis-à-vis his treatment of his patients and their relatives.

Internist and epidemiologist, Flegel is thorough, persistent, and humane. An expert in his own specialty and also a fine diagnostician who gives referrals to top practitioners of other specialties. Calm, kind, good-humored and efficient during appointments; will fit a patient in quickly on an urgent basis; can also be reached by phone and email. Sends lab reports to patients, with handwritten annotations of concerns. Has retained the same pleasant, highly effective staff for many decades. Teaches, does research, publishes and edits. Well-known and respected in the Canadian medical community. Mention his name to almost anyone in his hospital network, and faces light up--"he's a wonderful doctor!" As a patient of many years, who has been seen both in sickness and in health (at regular yearly check-ups), I totally agree. An ideal, model doctor.

Not impressed. Dismissed my health concerns. In my view seemed arrogant. Quebec healthcare is stressed out and it drags everyone down.

This doctor is a very understanding and calm person. A real pleasure to attend his office. I am one of his first patients when he started practicing and would not dream of changing him for another. Highly recommed him, but is not taking on any more patients.

A caring and knowledgeable internist who not only has good diagnostic skills, but takes time to listen to his patients. The hospital itself isn't always the most efficiently run, but his practice is good.
