Ratings for Dr. Daniel M. Asimus
The staff could care less about patients. The worst part was that I was having a bad reaction to his prescribed medication. Left three messages and no calls ever returned. I finally got through and asked the staff to have him call me and nothing happened. Nothing like this has ever happened to me before.
Dr. Asimus is very good at understanding the roles of his degree, psychologists, counselors and other non-MD practitioners who coordinate both "Medical" & "Emotional" needs. Talk Story helps! Whether it is grief, loss, or transitions Dr. Asimus & Staff empower patients to FEEL FREE to take control of one's Life. Bring stability in a quicker fashion. Dr. Asimus uses a practice model of UP-TO-DATE cities. They use the Psychiatrist for the OVERALL BODY (medications if needed) and the Psychologists, MFTs, LCSW, Hynotherapists to assist with the "Talk Story" for a whole body approach. Mahalo Dr. Asimus. The worst therapist on the island. The staff is RUDE and incompetant (try getting a fax to the pharmacy. OMG. Nightmare.) and the Dr. thinks he knows a little more than he does apparently. I dislike talking badly but, honestly, I was flabberghasted at how incorrect his assumptions really were. My wife and I have had nothing but headaches seeking help there. Please be warned. There are other options on this island. Get a Dr. who is here all month long. Good luck to those who read this, my wife and I hope you find happiness with your choice. Aloha
I have been with Dr. Asimus for 11 years and I LOVE HIM. After seeing other doctors and therapists, Dr. Asimus is the only one who gave me a correct diagnosis, and put me on the correct meds. He also recommended my therapist who has been great. The doctor is thoughtful, kind, always has a smile on his face, in very approachable, and genuinely cares about my health, and takes an interest in my personal well being. He is extremely knowledgeable, and happy to answer any of my questions, thoroughly. Plus, I just enjoy talking with him, he always has great advice. I have learned a lot about myself, my health has improved by leaps and bounds, and he wears excellent Hawaiian shirts. :0) If the doctor is running behind schedule I do not mind waiting in the lobby, he is worth the wait. Doc is the best.
It is very difficult for me to be polite about my experience with this doctor * This doctor doesn't seem to have an ethical code and he seems only to be interested in making money * He did not apologize for making me wait 1 hr from my scheduled appt time * It took 17 phone calls to make my last appt with the receptionist * Doc spends less than 15 mins with me (and this very limited time involves him making phone calls to people that have nothing to do with the visit, insulted and belittled me, tried to kick me out as quickly as possible, seemed indecisive and hypocritical about how much he charges patients per visit)* Doc seems to assume everything about what I tell him w/o asking questions * It seems that my visits are 80% doc talking and 20% patient (me) talking * The one nice thing about this place is the waiting room
Not good for serious problems. Older man and has an office in Maui which he works out of every two weeks or so. He seems to be more focused on retiring and past his prime in dealing with and trying to find solutions to a servious mental illness. The woman in his office, Pamela is rude, and very unfriendly. She never smiles and makes you feel like you are bothering her. Appointments are difficult to make. Dr. Asimus is there to roll in the bucks, it seems. Constantly looking at other files and just ready to prescribe anything and get you out the door. He is a nice enough person, just irresponsible in dealing with a serious mental illnes that needs focus and attention. The typical ADD doctor for college students or Depresent doctor for your average person. There are better.
I really liked him, put my full trust in him. I was in a Cancer hospital and he asked me to call him when I needed to talk thru something very emotional and physical debilitating and he never called back. Then 3 weeks later he called as if nothing had happened. Now this was a matter of 2 weeks time. I could not talk to him, my trust was violated again by another flake doctor. Took my money and my heartfelt trust. He is good, but when you're fragile, there isn't anything that can fix things. And I'm following apart.
