Ratings for Dr. Paul R. Gutheil
I have been going to Paul Gutheil for 8 years. I have steadily seen over the years his decline. I went today and he didn't know what medications I was taking or why. He had clue as to what my conditions were, couldn't find test results etc. If I tell him side effects from a drug I take he prescribes more to take care of those. ? . I'm finding another doctor today.
Where to begin... First of all I called to see a female doctor named Paige. The receptionist didn't speak English and apparently put me with doctor Paul. I did not kno this I am a woman and uncomfortable with a male doctor however I never even knew this male doctor existed. I was on time he was 30 min late, you pay upfront apparently they have alot of unsatisfied paitents. I told the nurse what's wrong (an aniexty disorder which I have had for a long time) and explained I really just need mediciation for I havnt had insurance in a long time. Dr Paul comes in who is a 70 year old male who thinks I'm looney tunes n need to see a shrink asap. Bc I was kept waiting so long I had the opportunity to read both his and his daughter paiges bios paige specializes in mood disorders and would have been a perfect fit instead I got a rude 70 year old man who specializes in erectile disfunction I will never go back it was awful experience, waste of $15 and my time
OMG where to begin. The staff doesn't call in prescriptions when they are supposed to. Called one of my blood pressure medications in incorrectly once so i took the wrong milligrams for like three months. I have been seeing Dr.Gutheil for like 3 years and he's only ever listened to my heart twice. He never touches me in any way or looks in my throat or ears or listens to me breath and i have respiratory disease. I have complained about certain symptoms for years and he did nothing then come to find out my sugar was high and when i started taking medicine for that the symptoms decreased. At one point one of the blood tests he did said something was high and that it could cause atrial fibrillation and he never said anything and i ended up in the hospital. When i got out and went to see him he hadn't even looked at the results. I almost had a heart attack!!!!
I've been going to Gutheil for a few years, and with each passing year I feel as though my symptoms and/or conditions seem to be taken lightly as not to be a big issue. Gutheil always wants to prescribe medications that I do not feel are appropriate for me, and when telling him this he just chuckles and breezes over my concerns... then orders me to come back in a couple of weeks. I have not been to Gutheil in over a year and will probably not go back. I have taken matter into my own hands and things have gotten MUCH better - - with out medication. I'm now seeking a new primary care physician. Any suggestions?
I have been going to Dr. guthiel since 1977, He is the best, I also have seen his daughter Paige, I like her also.My whole family goes to him. He deliverd 5 of my grandchildred The oldest is 27. I would not consider going anywhere else.. J. Brooks
Medical staff lacks professionalism and is not very courteous towards patients. Also, they have shown incompetence by not ordering a test that requested by the doctor to be ordered for me. I was not aware I was to have the test until the next time I went to the doctor and the nurse asked how my results turned out. I let her know I was not aware I was suppose to have the test nor was it ordered for me.
