Dr. Matthews and his team gave me the smile I have wanted for 40+ years. I really enjoyed everyone there from Liz, my hygenist, Jen the financial whiz, Cherl up front and on and on. Dr. Matthews is not only a very fine dentist, he's just a great guy with a great sense of humor and knows what he is doing. I am so happy I found these guys and can't speak highly enough of everyone there.

The fact is I needed a crown for a cracked tooth, Jen gave me the quote for the crown of something like $1500, covered at 50% by insurance. I was surprised and told her I needed to do some research because I thought my coverage was more like 80 or 90%. It took me about 20 minutes to get away from her from the first "Let me do some research" to the final "no." Aside from the high-pressure sales pitch for Care Credit, the most troubling part is what she said, "No matter what dentist you go to your insurance is only going to cover 50% of a crown. The cost of the crown may be a little less somewhere else, but you will still be out-of-pocket for 50% of it..." I saw my old dentist and paid $220 out-of-pocket for the same work. I called Jen to point out her error and to ask why she would tell me that my insurance would only cover 50% no matter where I went and she replied, "Well, I didn't guarantee it." What?!? Just awful, I will never go back.

I have been a patient with Dr Matthews for years. What keeps me coming back is the personal attention and service I get. Everyone is friendly and genuinely cares about me. They all know me and my family by name and they treat you like family. Dr Matthews and his staff do amazing work and you get what you pay for. I don't want cheap dental work. I went through that before and I paid for it later. I want work that will last and that is what you get from them. I won't go anywhere else and neither will my family.

My husband & I had been patients for about 4 years when it came time for our sone to have his first trip to the dentist so we made an appointment for him to see Dr. Matthews. I was EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED with our experience. The hygentist had a terrible chairside manner, she expected my 3 year old to just lay down in the chair and open wide, didn't bother to explain what she was going to do or what the instruments did. I had to remind her that this was a child who had never been to the dentist and he was a little nervous (but not fitfull at all) and she actually seemed annoyed with my request. Once I explained what the tools did (this sprays water, this sucks water, etc) my son was totally fine but I was so frustrated with the hygentist that we never took my son back and my husband and I changed dentists, too. STAFF NOT FRIENDLY OR PATIENT AT ALL!!

Wish I could sue. I'm irate. How can this be legal? Well, there's no proof. He drilled the proof away and we didn't get a second opinion. He gave my husband thousands of dollars worth of dental work that he didn't need. He has had perfect teeth all of his life. He's regular with his check-ups and cleanings. We tried this dentist and they said he had tons of cavities and needed a root canal. They're liars and cheats. I had the same experience as the other reviewers: they want your money and will do anything to get it. They have the sleazy car salesman philosophy in a health care field. It sickens me. I also heard that he has his employee post fake reviews. Have fun with that.

dr dave Matthews is all about $. He doesn't really care about his patients but what money they will bring him. I would not recommend dr Matthews to anyone.

I am a dental asssistant and have seen first hand the work ethic and treatment that Dr. Dave Matthews has done. Personally, I would NEVER recommend anyone to his office. I have seen Full Mouth X-ray's of before & after where he filled teeth that did not need fillings, and left mass decay behind the fillings that did need to be done. Fillings were left with ledges to shred floss and for anoter Dr. to re-do his poor treatment. It sadness me that all this man is after is production and money.

Dr. Matthews and his staff are friendly, professional and caring...even better in person than his TV ads. He is a very skilled dentist and I highly recommend this practice.

I was new to the Eugene area & wanted to establish a good relationship with a new doctor, dentist, etc. I know that sometimes that can be somewhat challenging but Dr. Dave Matthews office made me feel very welcome right from the first phone call. The office staff was very efficient & knowledgeable of my insurance. They had an appointment time that was perfect for me right away for my first exam. The dental assistant & hygienist were very gentle, caring, & understanding of my personal needs. They answered all my questions and explained things to me in language I could understand. Dr. Matthews did the most thorough exam I have ever had & showed me my xrays, pictures of my own teeth & videos explaining the specific treatment I need. He & the assistant even gave me the name of a good physician & I was very happy with that doctor as well. I have referred some of my new neighbors to Dr. Matthews & have heard nothing but great things about his office.

I've been seeing Dr. Matthews for my dentistry for some time now, at first I was kind of phobic about having a new dentist, but he and his staff worked with me being very patient. They also explain what they are doing and always let you know what the procedure is and what you will be paying for your fillings or whatever. I found them to be very helpful and knowledgeable. I also found out early in the process that I need a special anesthetic so that I don't have any problems later.
