Ratings for Dr. Colin Jackson
VERY intelligent Dr and good bedside manner... o waited a year and half to see him and it was well worth the wait. I will be his youngest patient that he will be replacing a hip for... I am so elated to know that I will be outta pain once this is done. I recommend him fully 😊
Dr Jackson is a very good surgeon. The operation and results were great/ The conversation during surgery kept me occupied. He does need massive improvement on his staff and his own social skills. His staff are always telling me that I didn't call them to make appts, etc. but when they look things up in the computer after telling me I am wrong, they see that I have called but they have jumped to conclusions. When and if I can get through on the phone, which is an all day event because they refuse to take messages and advise that you must call back in 10 minutes because they are much too busy), because your time as an individual is very unimportant. Dr Jackson does not offer any extra information other than what you ask, so you must have all your homework done and think ahead about what you want to ask him.. I would suggest taking notes and reading them out. He and his staff should actually take a course on social reaction to his patients - I realize he is much too busy to do this but it would help people, who are actually human beings, feel better.
I had my ACL reconstructed by Dr. Jackson. I am very happy with the results, and his guidance for post op rehabilitation. I am now 4 weeks post op, but was walking just before 2 weeks. The information package he gave out has been a great tool to guide my recovery. He answered all my questions and didn't sugar code the recovery length. His receptionist is very quick and to the point but also helpful.
OK, I get it, Dr. Jackson is UBER busy. His office reception will tell you that. They are in the technology stone age - phone calls only. "Can you imagine how busy I'd be if I had to do emails?" was the response I got :). There are great systems for that. So the staff is short, snappy and borderline rude. I've met Dr. Jackson previously and he was totally unhelpful. You can leave it or you can have surgery on it. He's a very impersonal guy. Doesn't care about you, you're just a number (dollar signs). He gets you in, and he gets you out. But you know what? He gets so much business he can act however he wants and there is no ramification.
Dr Jackson did my hand surgery last week. I found him to be impersonal and had to ask him questions about my recovery. Prior to my surgery he did not explain the procedure or the recovery process. He was able to do the surgery within a month due to constantly numbness in my hand. I was uncomfortable with his personality.
I broke my wrist a few months ago, and Dr. Jackson performed the procedure of putting pins in my wrist. He was not the original doctor to attempt to fix my broken wrist. A different orthopaedic surgeon had attempted to put my radius back in place, but he was unsuccessful. The doctor told me I needed pins, but that he was leaving because his shift was done. Dr Jackson did the procedure without any questions asked. The procedure went well, and he fixed my wrist. Throughout my visits to his clinic for checkups he was amazing. Helping so many patients all day long, yet still giving his undivided attention to whatever patient he was with at the time. Dr. Jackson is a great doctor, I recommend him to anyone in need of an orthopaedic surgeon!
