Worst doctor. She needs someone to communicate for her or she should just stick with surgery. She has no bedside manner, no listening skills, no consideration for other medical issues and lots of anger. The appointments are useless, once a year the doc talks to me on zoom for 10 mins and then disconnects. I don't get to ask questions or discuss anything. She likes prescribing meds but doesn't note my concerns about contraindications or diet. The pharmacy couldn't read her scripts. Her information handouts are old, they don't cover individual problems. The receptionist is not great - at one point she rebooked my appointment 6 times in one day. Stay away from this woman.

This is a doctor who should not even treat animals, much less humans. I left her office in tears after the first appointment. She is heartless. Absolutely no patience, hammers you with questions and gets incredibly aggressive if you do not respond fast enough. I have no idea why she went into medicine. She is the antithesis of do no harm. If you value your safety, find another doctor if you see her name on your referral. Shame on Toronto General for keeping her employed.

I had a colonoscopy and gastroscopy yesterday. I have had both procedures before and was properly medicated. They started the colonoscopy and I was crying out in pain as they went in, they gave me some more meds and kept going. As the procedure continued the pain got worse I asked for more pain meds and was ignored they continued. I was in EXTREME discomfort during the whole procedure. I have had colonoscopies before and had zero discomfort. When a patient is crying out in pain I assumed you stop and give more meds, you check in with them to ask how they are doing. In previous colonoscopies that is what I've experienced. They then gave me more pain meds to start the gastroscopy - I put my arm up to stop and was gagging during the entire procedure - they did not stop to give me more pain meds. It felt to me they were rushing and did not want to stop - the nurse would have to come to the right side of the bed to find my arm to inject more pain meds. As I kept gagging and struggling through the procedure I was told "We're almost done, we're almost done" - this was THE WORST experience I've ever had with both of these tests. I have had a gastroscopy before and experienced none of this because I was properly medicated for this highly invasive procedure. Today I have a very sore throat from all the gagging that was done during the procedure where the back of my through came into contact with the apparatus they inserted into my mouth for the procedure. I highly recommend anyone considering going to the TGH Endoscopy clinic to have any of these procedures done by Dr. Allard to try and find a different clinic to attend. The was the worst experience I've ever had at a hospital. They barely spoke to me the entire procedure. You would expect if someone is crying out in pain that they would be more aware of it and try to make the patient comfortable but they completely ignored it as I cried out in pain, struggled and was gagging during the entire procedure.

I have never received such discriminatory and poor service from this staff than anywhere else I have been to (UHN registered in 5 different countries). They do not even bother to help the patients and do not care at all even if they're dying. Even when making payments they do not seem to care for the patients well-being or follow-ups. Wasted my time and money on this, absolutely worst!! There are much better places out there.

This is by far the worst Doctor I've even saw in my life. If I could give Her ZERO Stars I would. She's cold and heartless an should not be a Doctor. Save your health by going to see another GI Specialist. I will be reporting her for the lack of Care.

She is a SBS specialist. Very good, hard working Doctor. Bedside manner needs work.

I saw Dr. Allard about two years ago due to what was thought to be "serious acid reflux". Dr. Allard increased my meds to the absolute max but did not even conduct a physical exam let alone an endoscopy. Well, now, two years later, I saw an amazing gastroenterologist who conducted an ultrasound and an endoscopy. I have a peptic stricture which has been causing all the pain. Since Dr. Allard was keen on prescribing meds, she did not (in my view) conduct a sufficiently thorough investigation.

This doctor solved my problem when other doctors failed. She is extremely knowledgeable and worth the wait.

I had a long standing appointment with Dr. Allard. In no time flat, she let me know she has absolutely no interest in my medical history. She clearly had not read one bit of my file in advance and when she asked me to speak about my health, she quick cut me off. Every word that came out of my mouth in answer to the questions she barked at me with rapid fire were met with rolled eyes and exaggerated sighs. How did this nightmare of a doctor become head of a department? She has no empathy for patients, no respect for our time - only her own - and she in unapologetically rude! Her contstant mantra is that she "doesn't have time" and as I have seen in other reviews here, she makes walking out on patients mid-conversation a habit. She also did this with me. In my time with Allard, I found her to be antiquated in her methods and focused on standards means of problem solving. She is no "Dr. House". What she is, is the shining star of mediocrity. A discontented human being who takes some sort of pleasure from bullying patients into submission. Save yourself and book another specialist if you see her name on your referral sheet. She is not worth your time.
