Ratings for Dr. Susan R. Davidson
Absolutely horrible doctor who deserves zero stars. Did not call me promptly when I had a positive FFN test, dismissed my concerns and my constant contractions and my rapidly effacing cervix following a previous preterm delivery. The only advice she gave me was "don't go shopping at Woodman's or anything like that." Subsequently, I got a second opinion and good thing I did because I was in full blown premature labor months before my due date. My baby easily could have died had I listened to her and not gotten a second opinion. Reckless doesn't even begin to describe her style.
Dr. Susan Davidson was my physician two times for high risk pregnancies. She was amazing! Straight forward, knowledgeable and yet caring. I would recommend her to anyone with a high risk pregnancy.
Dr. Davidson is an excellent doctor. She is very knowledgeable and she is a very good diagnostician. She is also compassionate and spends more than enough time with patients. Dr. Davidson's team went out of their way to follow up and schedule consultations for me so that I was well informed about the condition and possible treatment options. Commenting on an earlier review, I do not mind that some parts of the discussion are handled by a genetic counselor who works with Dr. Davidson. I do think Dr. Davidson's time is best spent diagnosing and treating patients because she is very good at that. I asked if I should switch to her from my regular OBGYN (from Dean's clinic) and she said it was not needed and entirely up to me because they all work closely together. When she was on vacation, I was seen by another doctor without any problems. I couldn't ask for a better care, particularly in the difficult circumstances of my high-risk pregnancy. Dr. Davidson is awesome.
This was the absolute worst Dr. visit I waited 2 hours before seeing the Dr. and then only had a 5 minute appointment with her. Ridiculous...I was livid by the time I left...you don't make a pregnant women wait 2 hours to see a doctor.
Guess I'm the exception, had a good experience with her for my high risk pregnancy. She worked with my local OB/GYN (perhaps it helped that it was within the Dean family but in a different city?) and she even referred me to Children's in Milwaukee when it became apparent that was where I should deliver. She isn't the easiest to schedule with and isn't always punctual, but considering I was one of the exceptions (emergency amnio) at one point and obviously she's in delivery sometimes, I understand that these things happen in this type of clinic. Her bedside manner leaves a bit to be desired, but I always felt she was very knowledgable and comfortable in her care. One complaint I do have is how they hand the patient off to genetics counselors to explain all test results, which is akward while she's doing the ultrasound. I get that your time is valuable but it seems odd not to be able to talk to the "expert". Overall I was happy though and will be using her for future pregnancies.
agree with the others, I saw her for a high risk pregnancy and ended up going into labor when she was on vacation. I was only a week early and no one had any idea of how to treat me. Nothing was noted in my file about my post natal care. She also never disclosed that she wasn't going to be the one to deliver me either.
Not as good as you would expect. Seems to have other interests.
Doesn't appear to make arrangements with other doctors to see her patients when she is on vacation.
I was so disappointed with this doctor. Despite appearing friendly and definitely being articulate, this doctor doesn't listen and gets nasty when you disagree with her. Her practice is not well-managed, especially when she goes away and her staff is in charge. If you are seeing her for a high risk pregnancy, she will often suggest that you give up your regular OB and just see her. Do not let this happen. Instead, tell her that you will keep your regular OB and you will see her also.
