Ratings for Dr. Joshua Polsky
Dr. Polsky is an amazing doctor! I recently had him for a not so pleasant experience. He and his staff were very kind and full of compassion. He dealt with the situation with just enough optimism to get us through it without giving us false hopes. They made what was a very difficult time for us so much easier to get through. I look forward to seeing them again in the future, hopefully under happier circumstances. I cannot thank this doctor and his staff enough!!!
Dr. Polsky is a very thorough doctor. Very friendly and answers any questions you may have. After my pulmonary embolism diagnosis, I had to resort to an IUD for contraception and heavy bleeding. I had the Mirena once before and bout 6 years ago via another OBGYN (Dr. JB Leung), in which I had very minimal discomfort during and after the insertion. This experience this time was absolutely horrific! It exceeded labor pain. I had to take 2 tablets to dilate my cervix before the appointment and that alone was brutally painful. Dr. Polsky and his resident had a very hard time inserting the IUD as my cervix is very high up and tipped backwards (though has never deemed a problem for my previous doctor). I was in the worst gut wrenching pain I had every experienced. However he did keep apologizing and seemed sympathetic for my pain. I am concerned as to the use of the vaginal tablets to dilate the cervix as it was never required with my previous doctor and he had no issue inserting it. Long story short, I ended up in the ER & was prescribed percocets for the uterine contractions being so excruciating. I do not even remember how I was able to drive home in that much pain. I think the doctor needs to put patient comfortability before what is easier for HIM. Because it still took him 20 minutes to insert the IUD due to how tense my body was from pain. A nice doctor, but bad protocol.
Dr. Polsky is a fantastic doctor. All the staff in his office are very nice. The longest I waited for my appointment was about 40 mins which means he takes his time with his patients and doesn't make you feel rushed. Unfortunately he wasn't the doctor that delivered my baby but came and saw me a few times in the hospital after my baby was born to make sure I was doing ok after my c-section. I have now for my 2nd pregnancy and I look forward to all my doctor's appointments. Anyone who has Polsky for their doctor is in good hands.
Dr Polsky is amazing. I am on my second pregnacy with him now. He did not deliver my daughter but did stop by in the mornjng to check on us and make sure we didn't have any questions. Before becoming pregnant this time I had a few miscarriages. Dr Polsky has been more than supportive and did everything in his power to put my mind at easy during the early weeks. His wife and staff have been exactly the same. Every visit has been enjoyable. Sometimes the wait can be a little long as he is very busy, but I say he and Dr Milrod are worth the wait.
Dr. Polsky inserted my IUD before my cervix was fully dilated from the tablets. He knew this, spoke with another patient for a few minutes to give me some more time, and then inserted the IUD while I screamed and felt close to passing out. When I cursed from the worst pain in my life, he stated "That's warranted considering what you've just been through." I was his last patient, which is why he did not wait with me and headed straight home. The staff had to help me off the table, give me the most pain meds available, and then ensure repeteadly I was okay to drive home, long after Dr. Polksy had headed home for the day. This was done months ago, and to this day the pain makes me physically cringe. I have a body piercing and a few tattoos in the most notoriously painful areas (foot, ribs, etc.), but none of those instances come close to the pain I went through with this insertion. I have a very high pain threshold, yet now harbour a strong fear of getting this device removed. I will be seeing another MD from now on, even if it means travelling out of town. I feel sorry that Windsorites are stuck with this singular option; the revolving door of patients certainly makes it easy for Dr. Polsky to cut corners when he can, regardless of patient trauma. He is polite, knowledgeable, and retains good staff, but I would not recommend this MD.
