Ratings for Dr. Keith R. Kuhlengel
Your secretaries were so rude to me today. All I wanted to do was make an appointment for a consultation. They were very unprofessional, it was obvious they did not want me. That reflects on you Your secretaries are so rude and unprofessional
C4-C5 discectomy in 2007, he believed me to have a 30% chance of walking prior to having surgery...once he began, he stated a 10% chance of survival... I AM STILL HERE!!!! thanks to Dr. Kuhlengel!!! I am very thankful for his skillful hand!
I called to get my husband an appointment with Dr. Kuhlengel after being highly recommended to him by one of his previous patients. My husband has been through 7 back surgeries already. Called over a month ago to schedule an appointment. Spoke with his secretary who told me that Dr. Kuhlengel would have to "review" my husbands file. Called back to the office on 6/22/2017, over a month after I originally spoke with them. His secretary called me back and informed me that Dr. Kuhlengel is not willing to see my husband because he does not feel that he has anything to offer him. We have not even so much as met with the doctor to go over all of the issues, but he won't even give us the opportunity to schedule an office visit to discuss the problems. Very poor manners on the doctors part. Especially that he came highly recommended by more than one person.
I had a lumbar surgery by another surgeon in Lancaster and it did not help. When I went back, that surgeon was arrogant and acted like I shouldn't question what he did and said there was nothing else he could do for me. THEN I thankfully found Dr. Kuhlengel. He looked at my pictures and showed me exactly where the trouble was and said he could fix it. He did and I had relief and was just so thankful. He is competent and caring and I recommend him to everyone. Wish I had known about him first!
I waited three months to see Dr. Kuhlengle and another month for him to review my chart. He never personally gave me test results. His secretary/nurse, who is rude and degrading, called me and said he looked at my films and based on observation everything is fine and nothing in my spine is the cause of pain. I find it extremely insulting that he himself can't call me after waiting a month for this. Also, I find it impossible that syrinxes running through my spinal cord aren't cause for numbness, tingling, burning, weakness, etc. No tests were done to confirm..no CINE MRI, no mention of checking for tethered cord, retro flexed odontoid, checking flow or anything like that. I never even got to ask him any questions regarding this. I think of this every day when I can't pick my daughter up and when I fall to the floor crying because of weakness and pain. I can't wait until I can afford to go to a chiari and syringomyelia institute since unfortunately the care here was subpar. There's no pain management either since I guess I have no pain, so that's that. I find the whole experience here highly frustrating from my first encounter with the office staff to the last phone call...utter disappointment...no help.
I had one surgery by Dr.Kuhlengel 20 yrs ago and 1 last and follow-up was totally different. I am left in EXTREME PAIN with a nerve caught in a broken bone from post-surgery fall w/no help from Doctor Kuhlengel. He broke promises to me. Hospital charged for physical therapy I did not get. He doesn't care about my status post surgery; getting same leg symptoms as prior to surgery; attempted many times to allow him to redeem himself w/no success, COMPLETELY DIFFERENT then when he was younger; has left me in bed with horrendous pain; last follow-up appt. a disaster w/no significant interaction w/Kuhlengel; JUST INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED FROM PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITH THIS SURGEON. BEWARE. Also office staff unfeeling as related in another review so not just my opinion. Have known this surgeon for 20 years and am COMPLETELY DISAPPOINTED. hmm maybe burning the candle at both ends so to speak in number of patients...don't know but NOT GOOD.
Dr. Kuhlengel is the best Neurosurgeon around. He treats his patient's with respect and takes the time to answer all your questions. I know Dr. Kuhlengel personally as I worked at LNSA and as a patient. I have had 1 neck fusion and a 1 cage put in my neck and 2 low back surgeries. I was never nervous prior to my surgeries because I have complete trust in Dr. K. He is a Christian which made things even better. The ladies who work with Dr. K are also a great help over the phone and when you are in the office. I would and do recommend Dr. Kuhlengel to anyone having neck and back problems.
Dr. Kuhlengel did a craniotomy on my daughter after a motor vehicle accident. I have no doubt that he saved her life. Since then, our office visits with Dr. Kuhlengel have been a great experience. He is kind, caring, compassionate, and takes the time to treat us like we are the most important people in his day. I highly recommend Dr. K and his team.
Dr Kuhlengel is the most caring and knowledgeable Doctor I have had yet. He did both a neck and spine fusion on me. I am extremely happy with his staff for the after care. The spinal fusion surgery is a tough one but even now I am 7 months out and they make sure everything is taken care of. I want to personally thank everyone involved in my care. Dr Kuhlenengel right up until the surgery was right there with me during my concerns. He is an extremely compassionate man and eased me through 2 very scarey surgies. I have since recommended a few others who have now gone to him. Great job everyone!!!! Christine Keesey
