Ratings for Dr. Robert L. Burns
I chose him because of all of the recommendationsame but I could quickly tell you either love him or hate him. I was very nervous at my consultation and he made me feel rushed and stupid to ask any questions so I didn't. Then when I went in for my procedure he was very quick to get it started. I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed under general anesthesia. When I woke and we were getting ready to leave he spoke about me to my fiance as if I wasn't there or because I was too "messed up" he once again made me feel stupid. I went back for a follow up 5 days later as I was having some pain. He walked in and said it's dry socket without even looking at it. Put the medicine and and tried to walk out. I said can you look at the rest and make sure they're doing ok and he pretended to do so. He then turned to my fiance and asked him if he had any questions, I guess because I'm too stupid for him to talk to. I chose him knowing his bedside manner but thought if he's good at what he does who cares about that but now I'm even questioning that.
I have a great fear of dentists and he put me completely at ease. He answered all of my questions and was very considerate of my needs. He was done in less than five minutes and I can honestly say I have never hugged s dentist but I would trust him explicitly. His staff is fantastic and caring and I will never go to anyone but him. He actually helped me relieve some of my fears. I can't say enough good things about him and I am more than grateful for everything he did for me. I can honestly say if I have to use him again I won't be as fearful. I can't say thank you enough. You are truly a wonderful man and the best, most experienced and wonderful dentist I have been to. The entire staff is magnificent.
I agree with all negative comments. I will never go back there again. I am in great pain still and four of my teeth were loosened during an extraction. Felt like a dollar sign in the chair, wham bam get out man! Im traumatised from my experience.
I have been to Dr. Burns before with a great result about four years ago. Also had relatives he has treated with good results. This visit seemed different. They were 45 minutes late in seeing me. Everything was very rushed. Staff people seemed pressed for time. I am not looking for a social experience but this was almost robotic. The emphasis was all on getting things done as quickly as possible. I have never had a procedure where the surgeon did not ask me before he began how I was feeling and if I was numb. You are handed a plastic bag with prescriptions and a couple of pages of instructions with your receipt. No discussion of after procedures care. Dr. Burns is a very good surgeon and I will probably return to him if I need other work. You just have to be prepared for the "patient mill" if they are rushed and the non personal approach.
My appointment wasnt until 2pm...but i was in so much pain i showed up at 8 am and was in the chair and done by 930!! Quick, easy, and very affordable!!! After he numbed me.....It took him no time at all to get this huge wisdom tooth out! Best Oral Surgeon EVER!!
I have gone to Dr. Burns several times and exactly because of his "beside manner", bluntness, and efficiency. I find my visits highly efficient, and have had zero problems afterwards. This last visit I had 14 teeth pulled. I had almost no swelling, and did not even need the Motrin or Hydrocone precsriptions filled. No pain afterwards! I like that he does not waste time; there is no time for you to get uptight. If you need to get babied, he's not your man...but no one else is as GOOD as he is. Frankly, I prefer his style. He has a wry and dry sense of humor which seems to go over some people's heads, so I have seen reviews where people think he is impersonal. I think patients looking for rainbows and butterflies just are not going to relate to him. He is professional and more on the intellectual side. Regardless, you will not find a better oral surgeon.
Dr. Burns is absolutly amazing at what he does! I have been to his office twice, once to get 2 wisdom teeth pulled and then again to get an infected molar pulled. With my wisdom teeth I ended up getting dry socket and Dr Burns had me come out at least every other day to get new packing so I was not in any pain....as anyone know dry socket is excruciating! He is definitly the best at pulling teeth and making sure you aren't in any discomfort! I would and DO recommend Dr Burns to anyone!
Had some complications.. I understand why some occur, but I don't understand why I must get a root canal. I had a procedure done a while ago with dr burns and he never mentioned the possibility of me having to get a root canal later on.. Wisdom teeth removal with him was okay but I also had a jaw problem so that's why I wonder if he was rushed during surgery. I woke up early out of anesthesia while he removed the last tooth. I know anesthesia is a tricky process but that was kinda scary. Also, I wonder if he damaged any nerve endings while doing surgery which ended up killing the tooth. That shouldn't have happened. I'll look more into this but I'm pretty sure my tooth shouldn't have died several months later. The staff did an okay job at keeping me calm but overall, I hated waiting forever and I hope the doctor wasn't rushed during my procedure causing more troublesome issues...
