I requested another MRI which showed a new lesion in my lateral tibia plateau, as well as my meniscus being being shredded and flipped, a total mess…he wanted to wait a month, send me to pain management and do another MRI. I did not want to be on drugs, non weight bearing and wait when I clearly needed a knee replacement. He made me feel like I was crazy and had me in tears. Unfortunately, when he drained my knee the 2nd time, he injected a steroid, without letting me know that by doing that, I would have to wait 3 months to have my knee replacement (or any surgical intervention done). Dr Desman used my pseudo gout as an excuse not to treat me and/or drag out the pain and misery I’ve been going through. It’s been 6 months since my initial injury, I found an amazing ortho, Dr Minas, at the Paley Institute, who took one lol at my MRI and explained the only option was a total knee replacement, but I had to wait 3 months due to the injection I was given. He had no idea why Dr Desman wanted to wait another month, and do what yet another MRI/send me to pain management. 9 years ago I had to have a total knee replacement on my other knee- mainly due to the fact that I was born with knocky knees-and was told then I would most likely need the other knee done as well down the line. I am not one to write reviews, but am beyond frustrated, I could have been close to healed at this point, but am looking at another 3 months of PT, which will be close to a year since my initial injury and getting my life back.
