In mid October of 2010, my mother had a colonoscopy done by Jed Kaplan. He removed 2 small polyps and 2 large polyps from my mother's colon which were noncancerous. Ten days after the procedure, mother lost 4 pts of blood, nearly half of her total blood supply due to Jed Kaplan's procedure. It took all day to get the 4 pts of blood back in her and to get her blood pressure back up so they could do surgery on her to put the clamp or staple on the removal site where the large polyp had been removed!!! I was told by a GI doctor's nurse that normally this is done at the time of the procedure. Why did Dr. Kaplan not use the clamp at the time of the procedure? Was my mother simply taking up too much time on Dr. Kaplan's schedule? Because of this physician's judgement or lack thereof, I almost lost the most precious person in my life!!!!! He will blame the Plavix and baby asprin and the large polyp for the massive bleed-out. IF HE HAD OF USED THE CLAMP THIS WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED!!!!!!!
