I have contacted a lawyer. I was put basically in a head lock and he tried to pull the tooth I screamed cause it was not numb. He told me that if I didn't stop and be quiet I'd be asked to leave. You gotta be kidding me. I was NOT numb. I cried through the whole thing. My insurance paid for deep sedation and he charged it and left me wide awake. That's fraud. Besides that the aggression and verbal abuse. These teeth were being removed due to domestic abuse. I suffer from ptsd and have had issues all day not to mention pain. The entire staff are hateful as well. They are not getting by with this.
I had a top rate experience, 5 stars all the way. Dr. Wallace was kind, considerate and calming. He had my tooth removed quickly and expertly. Staff was great and I was seen right away with no wait. Thank you Dr. Wallace!
I went here for a consultation and I will definitely not be getting my wisdom teeth taken out here. Everyone including the Dr. Was really rude and not friendly. I would pay out of pocket or drive 60 miles out of my way before giving this place a dollar.
Dr. Wallace saved my life!!! After a general dentist referred me to Dr. Wallace I did some research online and was immediately set on edge by some of the negative comments. Having no choice due to health and insurance, I ignored the reviews. Dr. Wallace did not beat around the bush with me when it came to my health. I had a severe abscess that had locked my jaw and was threatening to protrude through my skin. Dr. Wallace immediately made time to perform the procedure to drain the abscess the very first appointment I had with him. During the surgery, Dr. Wallace continually asked how I was doing since I was unable to be sedated and it all went very well, hardly any discomfort. He scheduled the tooth extractions as soon as the infection from the abscess cleared and I was able to open my mouth. During both procedures he explained everything to me, made sure I was comfortable and not in any pain. The staff was extremely reassuring as well. I trusted them all completely. After having multiple teeth both cut and pulled out a few days ago, I've felt amazing! I've had very little swelling and stiffness, and I haven't needed any pain medicine, prescribed or over the counter. I can only speak for my own experience and I would highly recommend Dr. Wallace because he is a great dental surgeon with immense knowledge and talent. He and his staff are a great team! I am so very thankful because I feel like a brand new person!! Thank you Dr. Wallace!!
Doctor Wallace literally saved my life. After another "hot shot" surgeon in Blacksburg botched my wisdom tooth removal (and then told me that I was "fine" when I returned several times with massive swelling in my jaw), Dr. Wallace removed the abscessed bone chunk that was left behind and repaired the damage done by the first surgeon. Yes, Dr. Wallace wears cowboy boots. Big deal. And yes, Dr. Wallace isn't familiar with the concept of being politically correct (he literally told me that if the infection had reached my bones that I would die). And yes, his office is dated; however, it wasn't dirty when I was there. But this man saved my life and I can't be anything but grateful for that.
I was stupid enough NOT to read the reviews before going to this jacka***. Honestly the most offended, mad, and hurt I’ve even been in the car of a “medical professional.” The staff was okay, nothing great about them. You could tell they were nice because they had to be. I waited like an hour just to get into to see this joke of a person. Before I continue this review let me make it very clear I’m not easily offended, it takes very much for me to be offended. With most people I take what they say with a grain of salt. As soon as he walked into the exam “room” (which was dusty, smelled moldy, damp/stale air, not very clean) he said, not even in a jokeful way, “Do you have diabetes, it looks like you SHOULD have diabetes.” Those were the exact words. No hi, hello, I’m Dr. Wallace, nothing. That was it. In a very rude way might I add. I told him no, I did not. He said, “I’m surprised. At your size you’ll have them before you know it.” I am overweight, I won’t deny that. I could be healthier. I understand fully the risks. I understand also that medical professionals are going to raise up the risks associated with anybody being overweight, in an appropriate, professional way. This was NOT the case with this man. Let me just mention though, this is a DENTIST. Let him comment my smoking, my acidic food love, let him connect one of those issues with my TEETH, not my weight. The whole appointment was my weight. Demeaning comments, unprofessional language, on and on, AND on with my weight is what I experienced at this appointment. It was unacceptable. At one point I told him straight up, “I am here about my teeth, let’s get back to that.” He asked me at least three times if I was doing anything about my weight.. SERIOUSLY!? If I want to talk about my weight I will go see a REAL medical physician. It’s NONE of your business what so ever. At a point I asked him what kind of anesthesia would be used for the procedure (I have to get all four of my wisdom teeth taken out). He told me it would be an IV drip, but, “I wouldn’t dream of doing a full dose because of yourself. I can’t life 400-600 lbs.” LIKE REALLY?? I’m overweight, again.. But I am not 400-600lbs. That was just pure RUDE and extremely OFFENSIVE! The comment that really set me off the most was regarding pre-treatment instructions. He told me not to eat or drink anything six hours prior to surgery. Following those instructions he said the following sentence exactly, “I know it’s a long time for you to go without eating, constant eating is a hard habit to break, let’s hope you can at least go without the six hours that’s required, but I’m not sure if you can or not.” It was a cold, hard tone. There was no joking around when he said that. He told me as well to take 800MG of ibprophen before I came in. I asked why such a high dose and he said, ”Do to your extremely large, we want to make sure it’s enough. You’re an unusual case and I want to make sure every pound of you is covered, because there are many, many pounds to be covered.” After that he snickered at me. SNICKERED at me. This was the most UNPROFESSIONAL appointment I have ever experienced in my life. Not to mention he didn’t was his hands or use gloves the WHOLE visit. And I saw someone mentioning his COWBOY BOOTS. What an absolute JOKE. The appointment was scheduled but I would rather take a couple shots and bust those teeth out with a hammer than let that harassing, hurtful, old, feeble, man ever get within 10 feet of me again. When I call to cancel the appointment, if they try to charge me even a PENNY, I will refuse. I will take him to court for harassment. There are others he’s been rude and unprofessional towards. I don’t care how good of a lawyer he has or how much money he has, this type of service and personal behavior is absolutely unacceptable. Stay FAR from him and his disgusting facility.
Dr. Wallace's office was awesome! He is a great man, very professional but also lighthearted and a jokester, which definitely put me at ease. His staff was great and I am very impressed with the work they did. My surgery went great and my recovery has been very easy, with just a mild soreness, nothing unbearable at all. I would recommend him 10/10 times! The only reason I gave him a 4 for punctuality was for my consult, where I had to wait an hour and a half to get in...however, for the surgery, there was no wait time at all. I would recommend scheduling before lunch if you're worried about a wait time. Otherwise, I have no complaints! Dr. Wallace was great. To everyone saying he's hateful or rude, you probably need to learn to take a joke or take a doctor's comments seriously. If you can't handle professional criticism or a harmless joke, that's your problem, not his! I am 100% serious about these comments, had surgery last Friday.
Went to Dr Wallace because he's the closest person who would take my insurance. So I drive an hour to his office. Yhe consultation was fine, although I was a little nervous about his age. I go in to have one tooth pulled and three cut out ( my wisdom teeth.) That goes fine, although I woke up with my arms taped to the chair because I'd somehow pulled the IV out. I yold them I cant have a perscription for codeine, but was told they only prescribe Tylenol 300s. Ok, fine. I get a precription that'll last me two and a half days. I make it last four days, but I'm still in a lot of pain so I call to ask for a refill. Im told that its probably dry socket and to use clove oil. I used clove oil from Monday to Thursday, but not only does it not help but I now have these awful raw spots everywhere the oil touched. I called and asked for a refill again, but was told I cant have one and he cant see me for 5 days. Finally went to urgent care. Its not dry socket, and they prescribed pain meds.
I went for a consultation with David wallace (the oral surgeon) because my wisdom teeth need to be cut out. All the Dumb A$$ could talk about was my weight and how I needed to lay off soft drinks (like it is any of his business). Then he continued to say I would get diabetes when I got older. I am 19, yes i am over weight but other than my asthma that I have had since I was 5 and a recent back injury I am just as healthy as someone that weights 120 lbs. He also then told me that he couldn't put me under as much as someone that weights 120 lbs because of my airway. He is HIGHLY RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND A COMPLETE A$$!!! I wouldn't recommend him to anyone. I would rather let all my teeth come in and pull them myself than go back to him. Needless to say I wont be going back to him and I will be looking for someone that isn't such an arrogant Di*k.
I was leary about taking my son to Dr. Wallace after reading some reviews. I am so glad that he was the only doctor I could use with my insurance. He is GREAT!! He treated my son great and was very pleasant and professional. My son had 5 wisdom teeth cut out and went to work the very next evening. He only took one dose of pain meds and then nothing else. My sons friend had the same procedure but only 4 wisdom teeth by a doctor in Roanoke and was laid up for 3 days on heavy meds. Yeah he does wear cowboy boots and the place is not brand new but I did not go there to live. Dr. Wallace is a nice good ol country boy and is one heck of a dentist. I highly recommend him.
