I had weekly sessions with this doctor decades ago. I know they were quite expensive even back then. To be perfectly honest, I don't recall him helping me in any way. I do remember I felt he was extremely detached. My high school guidance counselor was much more helpful and involved. If your kids have problems, please don't look for affiliations. Instead look for a doctor who shows they have the capacity to care. This is far more likely to help your child open up and trust their therapist.

As a biological parent, an adoptive parent and a foster parent, I have had three adolescents go to Dr Nickman through the years as patients. We had sought out several other resources prior to that (including two more local Psychiatrists). They served as a baseline for comparison and they were all mediocre to awful. He is empathetic and caring. He also is on the faculty at Harvard, teaching other Psychiatrists about adolescent issues. Of course there is a possibility of prescription medications being used in treatment; he is, after all, not a psychologist, but an MD Psychiatrist. But he is outstanding at what he does and I highly recommend him. As a note, we saw him at his home based office. He has no staff there - you will be dealing directly with him. There is no receptionist.
