Biography
Dr. Mohammed Syed, MD, was raised and began schooling in Toronto, Canada, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Toronto. He graduated with honors in bioinformatics, or computational biology, which included a mix of courses in computer science, mathematics, statistics, biology, chemistry and physics. He went on to obtain his medical degree from Medical University of the Americas. During medical school, Dr. Syed had the opportunity to complete clinical rotations in New York City; Chicago, Illinois; and Houma, Louisiana. He then completed a residency in internal medicine at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Syed is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Louisiana’s culture, people and cuisine drew him back to the state to practice with Internal Medicine Associates at WK Pierremont Health Center in Shreveport. Dr. Syed is fond of the culture of excellence, physician support and relationships at Willis-Knighton Health System. He enjoys interacting with people and believes that a positive relationship with patients is vital to their health. Dr. Syed has an open door for patients, and he takes great responsibility for the personal health concerns that patients share with him. Dr. Syed involves patients in their own care as he formulates a workable plan with each patient to meet their personal goals and abilities. In this spare time, Dr. Syed enjoys sports, loves the outdoors and is always ready for an adventure.
