Biography
Dr. Sloan enjoys working in community health with underserved populations. Dr. Sloan is particularly interested in trauma-informed care and trust-based relational intervention (TBRI), a specific type of trauma-informed care program created at Texas Christian University to help address and mitigate the effects of trauma on children and families from hard places. Dr. Sloan is a trained TBRI practitioner. She is also fluent in Spanish and has worked in West/South Dallas since finishing her residency in 2006. She's very attached to this area and the people and families she's met. Dr. Sloan has enjoyed watching children and families grow up over that time period. She also enjoys teaching medical students and residents.Outside of work, Dr. Sloan loves to travel. She's involved in her church, especially mission and local outreach. She also enjoys reading and writing and Camp Gladiator boot camp. She loves spending time with her family and friends, especially her nieces and nephews.
