Had a heart valve condition identified through testing several years ago - I was never informed that the condition needed to be followed and would eventually require surgery. Shortly after that time, the Doc took on a second job with the hospital. I never saw him again - usually a PA took care of me. For two years, i returned regularly, complaining of symptoms which I later learned identified Congestive Heart Failure (due to the defective valve). NO ONE from Ruh's practice bothered to read my file, I assume, since they sent me for sleep apnea tests, put me on a vitamin regimen, told me I was getting old, etc. Finally changed MDs. New Doc asked: "What was Ruh doing for that heart murmur?" Ended up in surgery within weeks. CANNOT RECOMMEND this guy OR his practice.

Dr. Ruh saw my mother in the ER of Mercy Hospital. Gave her 3 large doses of steroids for rheumatoid arthritis pain, sent her home with no meds. The steroid lasted 48 hours, then she crashed. How does a doctor get away with this? Doctors need to look over patients history and consider what the home care will be like before discharging a patient. Very disappointed (to use an understatement) at this flippant care.

He is not a quality doctor. Told me I have type 1 Diabetes and to come back in 4 months (sent me away with no other information). Said I can check my blood sugar if i wanted. Well I saw another doctor who said it's not diabetes, just hypoglycemia, changed my diet and have been fine ever since. Avoid this practice!! They do have a few good doctors, but they leave within a year. The most recent good doctor left aug 09, and I'm currently trying to find out where he went to so I can follow to his new practice (office staff not helpful with this).

Dr. is friendly, knowledgeable, precise and caring. I have no reason to complain.
