Dr. Jennifer Brighter was my PCP for years. I recently felt the need to leave her care due to her attitude. She is very thorough with patients, which is cool, but also means you can have a 30 min-2.5 hr wait for your appointment to start. NOT COOL. Even her staff shows impatience with her ridiculous wait times! She's seems to want to understand a patient, but when you try to explain something she doesn't understand, she gets a little edgy. Can be confrontational. Someone nosy. Not a great deal of warmth, but is generally friendly. Shows a lack of understanding with those with mental illness, so I would not suggest people with one or more diagnosis of the sort to take her on as a full-time doctor. I think she could be a GREAT doctor is she could improve her disposition and somewhat aggressive style.

Biography

Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:It may sound very simple, but I chose to become a family doctor because I wanted to help people, especially at a time in their lives when they might feel most vulnerable and in need of help and support. I enjoy getting to know my patients and helping them reach their health goals. What I want my patients to know about me:I think it is important to treat the whole person and to address physical, emotional and psychosocial aspects of a patient's well-being because it is all important. I truly want to listen to your needs and concerns, and to help develop a plan toward living the happiest and healthiest life possible for you and your family. No matter where you are at in your health journey there is always somewhere to start. What I do when I'm not seeing patients:When I am not seeing patients, most of my time is spent with my husband and teenage daughter. I guess some may call me a ""dance mom"" as a lot of our free time is spent traveling with her to her dance performances and competitions! We also enjoy traveling, hiking, any outdoor activity, visiting New York City, Broadway musicals and the beach. I have five adopted sisters with special needs who live nearby.
