Biography

“Allergy and Immunology has always fascinated me.”Initially Dr. MacDowell wanted to build a career in academics and came from her home country of Brazil with that goal. She soon realized that she could make a difference treating patients out of the University setting as well.“I truly enjoy the interaction with the patients, both children and adults.”Asthma, Allergic Rhinitis and Food Allergy are her Special Interests.“My philosophy is that educating patients about their condition empowers them to achieve better control and improve their quality of life. This is so important to me that on my free time I volunteer in the ‘Asthma Action Group’ who’s goal is to educate the Fayetteville Community about Asthma.”
