I asked him for help after a failed Vitek 2 TMJ IPI started causing pain. He did not put the implant in. It was done by his colleague,Dr Larry Peterson, at Ohio State University in 1984. FDA notified all physicians to closely monitor implant patients in 1990. I found out about it a few years later. Both Ness and Peterson refused to monitor me probably because they were too concerned about being sued. I was sent to another physician who told me that my pain was from stress, not to worry about the implant. By the time I had it out, the damage was outrageous. I suffer everyday. I finally have a doctor that acknowledges that my symptoms are textbook for these failed implants. Dr Ness always said he didn't know why I was having those symptoms. He is a nice guy. I don't blame him or OSU or Peterson for the implant or its failure, but they did nothing but cover it up and that is unfathomable. I trusted them and am paying a high price for that.
