Dr. Fiscella is a good general-purpose physician. She's smart and affable, though her practice is very busy and she can brisk. I have mixed feelings about her. Sometimes she seems quite open-minded and willing to go beyond the mainstream approach to things, but other time she seems the opposite. When I was having a very difficult time with CFIDS she wasn't willing to investigate and learn anything about it to help me. And when I tested high on total cholesterol, she prescribed (via a phone call by an assistant)a statin drug without, apparently, looking at the other cholesterol numbers, the ones that indicate that my cardivascular risk was in fact average to low. I believe she's affiliated with Alta Bates Hospital, but can't swear to it. She is well-regarded by other doctors in the area.
