What a horrible experience!!!. Waited for 2 hours just to get a room. My daughters operation was scheduled for 10:00, she only went into theatre 10:40. Forms were all rushed to complete as there were no time. Absolutely rediculous.

Under staffed with nurses that can and that are willing to work. My husband waited for 2 hours for his meds because the one sister was running backwards and forwards from the different wards looking for tubes and lines etc. food was a issue every day either he didn’t get or the wrong dietary requirements. The toilet facilities for visitors weren’t clean and didn’t have toilet paper in most of the cubicles. Totally horrible experience.

Their billing department overcharged me. Staff were rude and unhelpful. Logged a complaint, complaints department said they would sort it out but when I did a follow up call they informed me that they had never spoken to me.

I had a surgical procedure done by Dr Basson and his incredible team . Everyone from the guards at the gate to the theatre staff were friendly and helpfull. All procedures were explained prior to the operation. What impressed me most was the nursing staff . They were efficient and so very considerate in speaking quietly. Always thinking of the patient need to recover in a condusive environment. Unlike the staff at the opposition flagship hospital in Alberton. Keep up the amazing care .

I had a surgical procedure on 2/5/23. Dr Louw and his team were absolutely fantastic. The procedure well explained & left me with total confidence. Unfortunately the same cant be said of Mediclinic - from registration to pre & post care left much to be desired - food ok & discharge acceptable.

Just wanted to take this up and to be aware of my experience, and I had even called for TR Scores nothing received as well, the bill statements for Radiology. Worst hospital to deal with.05/11/2024 I went to the emergency rooms at Midstream Mediclinic, an associated network hospital. I had experiencing severe pain on the right and side flank and lower back accompanied by an overall feeling of weakness and general unwellness. Fearing that the pain may be related to my Kidneys or a potential kidney stone given my medical history I decided to go to ER as the pain was getting more intense. I have been taking pain medication but it has had little effect in reducing my pain. The doctor on call (Dr Kwazi Mbuyane) did an examination, and requested various blood tests and a CT scan and I was placed on a drip for the pain. The results of the CT Scan (without contrast ) revealed inter alia the following: • Pelvis : The uterus appears bulky (Knowing I had prior fibroids this should be checked ) • Endometrial stripes measures app 5.8MM • There is fullness of the bilateral adnexa • Lymph nodes: bilateral subcentimetre inguinal Lymph nodes • Subcentrimetre mesenteric and para- aortic Lymph nodes and noted • Hyperdense calcific density adjacent to the bladder dome The blood results revealed certain elevated levels which are indicative of potential infection and inflammation. S-CRP, neutrophils and white blood cell count is elevated. My lymph nodes appear swollen which shows that I’m trying to fight off an infection. Should the infection go untreated or treated inadequately, this may result in septicemia. The Doctor was made aware of my Haemorroids and current constipation but still prescribed take home pain medication containing codeine which may aggravate the condition. Note that the CT scan also revealed Feacal loading in my colon. I discussed my urological and gynaecological history with the treating Doctor wrt. a history of fibroids and kidney stones. I explained that I underwent an operation with a Specialist at Urology hospital 5 years ago, . I couldn’t use my current specialist as he only practices at Urology Hospital Pretoria, which is not on an associated hospital. Knowing all of the conditions I feel the doctor should have at least admitted me for observation and pain treatment. At the very least given my medical results, that he should have called in a Gynae consult before just discharging me without a proper diagnosis. I went home and still in severe debilitating pain. The medication that the GP prescribed costs around R 1277.00 this is a lot of money, the medication includes an antibiotic, pain medication and hemorrhoids medication and a ppi as the pain medication may be harsh the stomach I assume. I do not have R 1277.00 for pain medication. I was told to come back in 2 days if I am still not well so that the doctor can do more blood tests. This will obviously be an additional out of hospital cost for undiagnosed condition. I feel that if the treating doctor did not know or was unsure of what he observed in my results and physical examination that he should called in a physician of some kind for a second opinion to help me. I am still in excruciating pain and discomfort almost R4000 later. I told the GP I am a single parent to a minor child at home hence I didn’t come in sooner when the pain started.I also get out of breath as well, which I didn’t mention to the GP, yesterday I forgot to make mention of this. I strongly feel that the manner in which this was handled was not adequate. I should have been admitted for treatment, evaluation and or a proper diagnosis. I need to now consult with doctors I trust as the hospital is incompetent on thinking this patient has a few complications that we need to look at. I have attached my results and reports, I am a single parent, and I cannot risk being of ill health and constant pains because the hospital failed to treat me correctly on 05 November 2024 Hope other do not experience this especially like me with so many conditions, that needed attending to due to this I will have to slowly see how I will see each specialist out of pocket, at my own pace and affordability I cannot now go to another hospital and casualties again to be billed again, I cannot afford this. Hospital should see properly to their patients, and GPS need to realize they not specialist and refer patients to specialist. I WAS ADMITTED TO A DIFFERENT HOSPITAL ON 07 NOVEMBER 2024. JUST SHOWS THE DIFFERENCE IN MAKING MONEY OUT OF PATIENTS AND TAKING CARE OF PATIENTS . ALSO I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY TR SCORE RESULTS
