Absolutely horrific experience. The day after my surgery, I had called and asked to come in as I was in horrible pain. Dr McLaughlin stated that he was too busy and was leaving for vacation and that the pain was normal. As I had previously had 3 successful implants, I knew this pain was not normal, but, the doctor would not see me. The next week when I went in to see the doctor on call, he refused to touch the area and said Dr McLaughlin would have to take care if it when he came back. As a result, I was left with exposed bone for weeks. When Dr McLaughlin did come back he removed the implant saying it didn’t take. He was shaky, irritable and even got angry at the assistant and sewed through my lip and my cheek by mistake while closing up. I was in horrible agony for months. As I was checking out, the nurse told me Dr McLaughlin having back surgery and would be out for the next month or so recovering. It now made sense why he was acting so different and did not even seem like the same doctor who had done my previous two implants. Dr McLaughlin never apologized and the worst part is that the area now does not have enough bone to put an implant and I already paid to have an implant on the area below it. Obviously, I would NOT recommend. I am absolutely terrified about having my teeth worked on due to this experience. I thought he had retired after his back surgery, but, from these reviews, sadly it looks like people are still having negative experiences with Dr McLaughlin.
