Dr. Peter Waind was my ophthalmologist for many years. He was kind, caring and personable. Dr Waind provided exceptional care. He never rushed and was extremely thorough. I had full confidence in all of his assessments and recommendations . He ensured that there was appropriate continuity of care for me following his retirement. It was a real pleasure and blessing to have had him as my ophthalmologist.

DR. Peter Waind was my doctor for about 2 years before he retired. The office was very small, crowded and uncomfortable since wait times often exceeded 2 hours. The same situation for St. Mary’s with atleast 2-3 hours at times. I moved on to a much more modern practice where the doctor is exceptional. My appointments with Waind were too frequent-2-5 per month. Now I only need to visit my doctor every 8-8 weeks with 20-20 vision.

I was a patient of Dr Waind for just over 2 years. From 2-3 appointments per month I moved on to another doctor and only need to see him once every 2 months. I wasted a lot of my time sitting in a waiting room. Do not recommend this doctor to anyone.

Dr Waind has retired. His reviews are in the satisfactory category mainly. Wait times were unacceptable. He used his office on Union St for testing and St Mary’s Hospital for lazer & to give injections. He was often distracted and did not consider how uncomfortable the situation was for patients.. I would not recommend him to female patients because of my experience.

In a post pandemic culture and after having several medically related services within my Family I wanted to visit those practices I have had in the past to express long overdue acknowledgment and appreciation. I was however dismayed upon arriving to write a review for Dr. Waind and finding very negative comments. It is not my wish to downplay anyone’s experience here but in my opinion, society has become severely critical and overly judgmental. I have known Dr. Waind for nearly 30 yrs and have been attending his practice when needed. He has always been friendly and kind but most of all professional in his practices. I had never ever seen evidence of such behaviors mentioned in previous comments. When my Granddaughter was younger it was determined she had clogged tear ducts. Dr. Waind’s attendance to the problem was succuessful and comforting considering the worrisome Grandmother I was. He had also tended successfully to my own visual conditions over the years. We’re human and not perfect by any means. Be respectful when writing reviews. These folks have to continue living personal lives and making a living to provide for their families like yourselves too.

Dr Waind is an expert in his field. I was lucky enough to have him as my Doctor. I have been a patient of his for several years now. Yes he is so busy as there is shortage of specialist in the Kitchener-Waterloo area. I would recommend Dr. Waind whole heartedly.
