I have complained about the bad state of the washrooms a few times. This morning I noticed fecal matter on the back of the toilet seat in one of the women’s washroom. This, at 8:00 in the morning. One would expect that the washrooms have been cleaned. The cruddy dirt around the bathroom sink and on the floor is truly shameful. I have suggested previously to have the doctors use these bathroom to experience what it is for the Port Arthur Centre clients. The washrooms inside the hallways of the clinic are fine. It is the clients washrooms adjacent to the waiting rooms that are dispicable. In a facility that deals with the health of people, to show such disregard with a basic need of clean washrooms, show disrespect for their clients.

I have become so outraged with the services provided at the Port Arthur Health Centre. I have been a patient there since 1987, and have never seen such terrible service with the staff and employees. You can call and wait for over a half hour for SOMEONE to pick up the phone. I had days where I have been on hold for give or take an hour, and then hung up and called back 3X and gotten the same results. One incident, I called for 2 days, and finally had to get in my car and drive to the clinic just to make an appointment. I have talked to Management about this a year ago, and it is always short staffing problems. I am assuming that there has been cutbacks, with the government or the owners of the clinic. My doctor is on the second floor, with probably 8 other doctors, and there is only one receptionist to look after the whole floor?! No wonder it is such a mess there. I had surgery on a Friday, home on Saturday with with many restrictions on what I can do for 6 weeks, not even being able to drive, I was having an issue with one of my medications. So, I called the clinic to leave a message with receptionist for my doctor to call me, I will doing research into the other clinics in the city to see how their customer service is, and the length of time it takes to get through on the phone. What is the problem here with all of these issues...........Is it the government, the owners of the clinic......something has to be done. We need answers as to why our healthcare system is worse than it has ever been. I will sending this same letter to the Ministry of Health, The Management/Owners of the Clinic, and possibly the Chronicle Journal. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE!

I’ve had nothing but terrible experiences with Dr Scali. I went to him as my family doctor in 2016 due to an eating disorder clinic my previous AMAZING doctor referred me to. I transferred to Scali right when my previous doctor retired and the first time meeting him he said I was at a good weight for how tall I am (I was fighting for my life and he had the documentation to prove it). After that I made a complaint to port Arthur health centre and nothing ever came of it. Now skip to 2023 - I am hearing from 2 clients of his that are friends of mine, that they went in for a check up, he went over what it would consist of, and then surprised a rectal examination on them. Did not tell them before hand and did not have anyone in the room while he did it. They did not want to make complaints in fear he would retaliate and discharge them as clients. I was very angry hearing this. I wanted proof of my own and since I have been dealing with an eye twitch issue for the past month- I thought it would be the perfect opportunity. I called to try and book an appointment WITH MY FAMILY DOCTOR- since I haven’t seen Scali since 2016 the lady said she would have to ask him permission for me to see him. I was agitated - I said “but he’s my family doctor, I should be able to just make an appointment as he has never discharged me etc” she said it was his way of doing things. I waited 2 days to hear back from her- she called me and said “he’s agreed to see you but you won’t be priority, he said in March 2024 you can come”. I almost laughed over the phone. IN WHAT WORLD IS THIS OKAY. Scali is a family physician NOT A PRIVATE HEALTH CARE DOCTOR and I am on his client load….. he has proven time and time again, what a piece of s*** person and doctor he is. I will be trying to find another doctor as soon as possible. I URGE anyone with stories about Scali to come forth as I know me and my 2 friends are not the only ones that have been affected negatively by his down right disgusting, entitled behaviour. Port Arthur health clinic does not care at all.

This is a comment on the management of the PAHC and their failure to bargain in good faith with Unifor local 229 and striking medical aides and secretaries. No one can call in to the PAHC to schedule or reschedule an appointment. Those who do not want to cross the picket line are SOL. Come on, Me. James Martello! Treat your staff like it's 2018 and get "your business" back to normal operations. For God's sake.

Dr Ann Lyn Kald is the worst physician, nothing but a terrible hateful evil person and physician. The PAHC was better without her in every single way. I sincerely hope she is held responsible for her negligence. She has been off for years, she deserves to be let go without retirement. She deserves a spoonful of her own medicine. May she finally reap what she sows.
