Jules Foute-Nelong Clinic Guelph

This surgeon is literally a Prima Donna. I found him to be insensitive, arrogant, and extremely conceding. I suffered a choking incident where I required endoscopy surgery to dislodge food from my esophagus. I suffered pain and discomfort for 12 hours in the emergency room. This surgeon's behaviour demonstrated lack of professional empathy and furthermore I felt I was an inconvenience. While waiting in the hallway on a gurney I heard one of the OR nurses make a telephone call to this on-call surgeon to remind him of my 7am surgery. I had to remain in the hallway for about an hour for this surgeon to arrive. My first meeting with this surgeon was unprofessional. The first conceding comment he made to me was that I should learn to chew my food. Nothing more was explained to me as he entered the surgical room where I heard him place a personal telephone call, while I and the OR nurses waited for this surgeon to complete his call. One of the OR nurses kept apologizing to me while we waited as she could see I was in distress. This surgeon did not demonstrate professional courtesy or care that I was in distress. All he did was bark orders at me to turn on my side and not to gang on the lidocaine spray he shoved in my mouth. This surgeon lacked compassion and never took the time to explain the surgical process to me. But had the audacity to rush me through the procedure after his personal phone call was completed. The OR nurses and the recovery nurses were great. In addition, the other comments listed below demonstrated the similar experiences I had, and my feelings are mutual with the others. I would never arrange a follow-up appointment with Dr. Foute-Nelong, it will never happen! Furthermore, my comments likely would not affect Dr. Foute-Nelong as I believe this man suffers a god complex and has an unshakable belief, he is far more superior than his patients! I’m certain there are other patients out there who have experienced similar events from this surgeon and are too fearful to make a comment.

Could not ask for a better surgeon! Incredible human being!
