Lakewood Medical Centre

My doctor is at this clinic so I always go there when I’m sick but no appointment.I just realized today when I went to the walk-in that this clinic does a triage process. I realized because I saw who was ahead of me and when they came out. Also receptionist said she wasn’t sure how the walk-in receptionist was ‘doing it’ - although she kindly checked on my place in line when I asked. When I googled it I found out this clinic priorities more urgent such as breathing problems and deep wounds. To me, why are these patients not going to urgent care for such things? Just my opinion but what do u all think? The walking doctors was very kind and efficient once I got in.

Lots of negativity towards this clinic and I’m not sure why, Sure the wait times aren’t that great but I’ve had no problems despite that .

Went in on Friday with a lower back problems,they asked where it hurt I said lower back they took an x-ray and called me Tuesday. All they said was my back was not broken. They did not look for anything else, there was no examination. They said my back was curved (my back was not curved before the lower back pain) and was simply told to go see a family doctor.4 days for an "I don't know go ask another doctor." Would not recommend for walk ins, waste of time when I could have gone to see anyone else.

This clinic is dirty … not sure why they haven’t been shut down to have it professionally cleaned The receptionist smoke right outside the front doors then don’t even wash their hands when they go back in to work very unpleasant to watch

I really enjoy coming here for all my medical appointments. My family doctor is here and she is amazing. They also have the X-ray facility and the lab on site, and full time Podiatrist who is amazing.

This place is a joke, the place is sooooo dirty and the drs are rude and are not compassionate. Especially dr sakla she’s a **** Avoid this place like the plague If you don’t want to be treated like garbage

This is the WORST clinic I’ve ever spent time in. Can’t believe I put up with the very rude front receptionist and a Dr. who made you feel like you were just taking up her time. My husband found a new doctor and I followed. Now, I know when I call, my message will be returned… I will be greeted with a smile…and my doctor is pleasant and eager to help. I too have waited 3 weeks for my records to be given to my new doctors. (Also paid $40.00) When I call the front desk I’m told nothing. She actually said the results are mailed out and she can’t tell me how long the mail will take.??? I was not even given a CD like the other gentleman…My new doctors assistant has put in a SECOND request for my records and heard back nothing! I too will be call the Wpg Regional Health to lodge a complaint! This is not the way to treat me after giving her several years of business! I too will not be missing this clinic full of rude people. On an up note…the lab techs are wonderful. Not a reflection of the front end employees!

Ridiculous. Dr. Guindy doesn't work Fridays. Reception is anything but ? Terrible, rude and screens calls. My wife and I asked to transfer our medical files to a new facility closer to home and this is what took place. We drove an hour from Sandy Hook to Lakewood and were charged $40.00 each that we had to pay in person only to be handed 2 dvd's. We then had to drive them an hour away to Selkirk Manitoba to the new facility. Upon arrival they checked the dvd's only to discover the files were saved as "Tiff" files that cannot be used with current medical software and would have to be converted to PDF's. They called Lakewood and spoke with the I.T File Manager and were told sorry that's how we do it. So now my wife and I have paid $80.00 on a fixed income not to mention the time and fuel and ended up with to DVD's that cannot be used. I will be calling Winnipeg Regional Health on Monday and will be lodging a "Formal" complaint against Lakewood and demanding a complete refund of our money. Further to Dr.Guindy, she was rude to my wife when she found out we were leaving. I wouldn't recommend this facility to anyone. They are a joke. Good ridden's we sure will not miss the frustration this place has caused both of us over the past years.

My review is not about my doctor (I love Dr. Guindy!) but of the charges we had to pay to have a shot administered!! My husband and I were charged $120.00 ($60.00 each) to have one Twinrix vaccine at the clinic. We went to Shoppers Drug Mart and they said they only charge $20.00 and couldn't believe how much we were charged. The front receptionist also seems to struggle with basic knowledge as she wasn't able to answer the simplest of questions and gave up trying.

Wait times are horrendous. Expect to wait at least an hour for every visit.
