Dr. Patel kindly agreed to take me on as a patient again after I needed a psychiatrist for my depression and no one in Lethbridge was taking on new patients so I'm grateful that he decided to help me again. The wait to see a psychiatrist in Lethbridge is ridiculously long. He seems a little impatient at times but I think he's doing what he can to help me.

He constantly changed his opinions of my diagnoses. Blamed me for not wanting to get better because I didn't want to mess around with my medications because I have such severe reactions to so many of them. Refused to diagnose me with PTSD despite other professionals confirming a diagnosis. And refused to help me with AISH so I can live because "why is (he) even here if all (I'm) doing is saying (I'm) too disabled to do anything" even though I meed AISH to help support me while I'm trying to both work on myself in therapy weekly and working but not enough to support myself because I can't handle too much or I get burnt out and everything gets worse. He doesn't listen to his patients and treats them like shit if you have BPD. One of the worst psychiatrists I have ever seen.

Dr Patel changed my life. I've been a patient of his for just over 2 years now. I left my last psychiatrist after he was condescending to me. Dr Patel agreed that I should change my meds and agreed with my diagnosis of cptsd, anxiety and bulimia. I look forward to my visits with him as he actually listens. As a woman it's refreshing to have someone that listens and is actually prepared. I also see how he is in the er with patients there. He takes the time to be attentive and goes out of his way to help. Only thing I wish is that he did pediatric psych. As that's what we need in southern ab
