Never on time, hours late for some appointments. miserable when the meds he prescribed don’t work. Terrible bedside manner for a person that’s supposed to be helping individuals with mental health issues. I’d rather be treated by a stump than have to see him again!!

I will defend Dr. Olabisi against some negative reviews. Understand first that we have a shortage of healthcare professionals here and everywhere. I swear Dr. Olabisi is one of the busiest, hardest working Doctors in the province. I have had the occasional urgent need to speak with him before and got a call at close to 9:00pm the same day. He is there as part of your health care team to diagnose mental health disorders and provide medication and resources for you to help work on your mental health problems and disorders. He is not there to do CBT, DBT, EMDR etc. therapies. This is what the psychologist is for.

Dr Olabisi is direct, will ask lots of questions, and does not overprescribe. He is willing to work with you on a treatment plan and will listen to you if you have any reservations about certain medications. He tells you what medications may help your particular conditions then will suggest to read up on these medications for side effects so you are informed about what you are taking. You have to be honest with him if something isn't working.

I have a very complex set of health issues to deal with and he is the only doctor who has actually helped me with any of them. I am grateful for his care. Perhaps some of the negative reviews here are from people who didn't get the answers they wanted to hear from him?

I have been seeing Dr. Olabisi for the last six years; he saved my life. He helped me get from the darkest place I've ever been, to a place where I was able to go to back to university. He made it possible for me to recieve academic accommodations so that I could succeed in spite of of my diagnosis.

The negative reviews are baffling me...he isn't a therapist, he is a prescribing physician. Don't listen to the reviews from people who saw him once or twice...listen to the reviews written by his regular patients.

I don’t leave reviews very often but I have had such a terrible experience that I feel I can’t not say anything. First Dr. Olabisi staff is extremely unfriendly, the several interactions I have over the phone have been short and cold and I have been hung up on several times before I have had a chance to finish explaining why I am calling. I am a pretty understanding person and I get during Covid times dr’s are busy but everytime I needed anything I have had to make several attempts just to get him to notice my request. I know that there job is to ask questions and hopefully come to a solution in a short amount of time but I have never felted so judged in an appointment ever. I don’t know a lot about my diagnosis and i was made to feel like I should have all the answers. It just didn’t feel like a real discussion. I could go on and on but I just want to share and hopefully save someone else from dealing with the same issues

I have been seeing Dr. Olabisi for a year, Though it is worth noting that during the first few appointments, I felt a little off, because a new doctor is pretty scary for me. However, I took the time to explain and express that I needed a little bit more of a relaxed atmosphere, and to feel like I had the time and space to express my concerns. To my delight, he listened! I have been able to freely express myself and my thoughts, without feeling rushed to get my words straight. It means the world, because I am neurodiverse. It really does feel nice to be heard. I'd suggest being upfront about your needs as a patient, as well as your communication style/techniques of expression early on though. It helps a ton. Also, Dr. Olabisi is open-minded, and in my experience, prioritizes the patient's comfort with the diagnosis, treatment, and care plan, which is always welcome. I especially like that I am able to bring my own findings and the things I have noticed to the table. I have never had the feeling that he thinks less of me for thinking out loud, and I also have noticed that he seems to work long hours, as phone appointments are sometimes delayed a bit. I don't mind, personally - to me, that is evidence of a professional doing his best. Also, I know that if there is a concern, he will try to fit me into his schedule.

If he was my doctor I’d probably commit suicide. A friend of mine was seeing him and he did more damage to her than she was already experiencing. He’s actually sent her so far down the dark hole that she’s in that I’m not sure she can work her way out of it. Her company wanted her to take long term disability because they felt she needed the time to deal with her issues. That’s what insurers are for. First, he ignored her calls and e-mails for 2 months (about sending in her insurance forms) and then without telling her he sent the forms in deep-sixing her application. Now she’s in worse shape than she was when she first saw him with bankruptcy just around the corner. They are supposed to do no harm - that’s just laughable. This doctor (?) is about to have his professional reputation deep-sixed. Step one - Isn’t social media great for that?! Stay tuned. FYI the only reason I gave this guy a one-star rating is because the “field is required”.

After having another doctor quit on me , I was referred to Dr.Olabisi. With out getting into the full story of my mental health alls I will say is I need a good psychiatrist. I will end up not needing a referral and be a day patient in the morgue . So about my referral, the doctor himself phoned today, and tells me that he cannot see me as I have seen psychiatry in the last year. I cried , he said to phone around and find someone that would take me. In return I said at least I won’t need a referral to the morgue. He in replied ‘ ok bye”

I have met with Dr. Olabisi a few times over the last 6 or so months. I was a little apprehensive going in after seeing other reviews. However, it is worth noting that a psychiatrist is NOT a therapist. They can diagnose a disorder, and they will prescribe medication if they deem it is needed. I already have a therapist who I meet with on a weekly basis, so I went in to see Dr. Olabisi with an idea of what I wanted as far as medication went based off of the recommendation of my therapist. I have been thoroughly impressed with Dr. Olabisi - you just need to work with him and understand what he is there for. He is not going to do talk therapy with you. He acknowledges that medications do NOT fix everything, you need to put the work into yourself. If you don't meet him halfway and put the rest of the work in outside of medications, of course you might run into other problems. Overall, I am happy with this doctor. I'm not thrilled with 2+ hour wait times, but that's another topic of it's own.

I saw dr. Olabisi just after Christmas. During my appointment I felt judged and like he thought I didn’t have a reason to be depressed or have anxiety (after I had already been diagnosed by a dr.) He kept asking why I’m still depressed if I’m on medication. So we changed my medication, and after a couple weeks I could tell I didn’t like them. They made me feel numb and like I didn’t care about anything. So I phoned to make a new appointment to hopefully change my dosage or change the medication entirely. I left a message as no one answered the phone. I got a call back from the receptionist a week later and told her my concerns and that I wanted to talk to dr. Olabisi. She left a message for him so he could call me. I received a call from him (10:25 am) but missed it because I was with a client of my own. He called again(10:28 am), these calls were back to back and I was still with the same client so could not answer either . He left me a message and said he would contact me by email. These back to back phone calls I received were 15 days after my first phone call to him… The email I received later that day was rude and abrupt. He asked what was wrong with the medication I was using, and stated that if I didn’t like it to just lower the dosage and stop taking it and return it to the pharmacy. Instead of offering me advice or anything helpful. He told me to ask the pharmacist what other anti-depressants I could take instead.

Very un-professional, not helpful what-so-ever.
