My wife and I were searching for a doctor that we can have a relationship with. We moved from Wa. state to Nv. not long ago. In Wa. we had the same Doctor for about 15 years and since moving we have been searching for a doctor that is a fit for us. We stumbled into the Sunset Clinic quite by accident. My wife was ill and the primary doctor she had said she had to wait about 3 weeks to get an appointment. They said use urgent care. So, when you need your doctor the most they send you to urgent care, a stranger to you. We tried an urgent care in our area and they had a six hour wait, so we went to eat and on the way back saw a sign for another urgent care place. This was the Sunset Clinic at 6525 Buffalo Dr. suite 130, LV. NV. 89131. They were empty so we were able to get her in. During that visit we were attended by a Doctor Cornell Clark M.D. he seemed attentive, patient and caring. We thought that this may be someone to build a relationship with and we made a follow up for the both of us to confirm our thoughts. This went well, we were open and honest with the Doctor, we talked about our meds, our concerns, our insurance plan, medco and so on. We felt good about things and so we signed papers to have copies of our records to them. All seemed good, the Doctor ordered some test for me and they followed up with medco to order mine and my wifes daily prescriptions.

Now the problem, one of my meds is lorazapam, a narcotic. The Clinic said they need to do a Urine Test which I thought strange, I am 62 and my wife 61 but I thought ok, we are new here and so they might not have our records yet, no harm done. I assumed it would be a check for the drug in the one prescription. In the mail a few weeks later came a bill from Assurity labs which is out of our plans network for $8125.00 for Urine test lab work. They ran main drugs like ecstasy, cocaine, methadone etc etc etc, then sub test upon sub test. We felt that our Civil rights, the right to privacy were trampled on. we felt we were treated as criminals, we felt untrusted, corrupt and dirty somehow. When I questioned the lab (Assurity) they of course said that the doctor ordered the test. The clinic said that Dr. Mark (Mehrdad) Ferdowsian - DO ordered the test and he does it for everyone. I said that this is a one time thing and they said no, its every month and it would be that same for my wife who also has a prescription for one so called narcotic for her knee surgeries (both) pain.

For a doctor to do this to the patient, run a set of test at eight grand a pop stinks of kickbacks. it it well noted on the internet the profit motive used by some unscrupulous doctors to add to the bottom line. Our doctor their, Cornell Clark said that he is not in agreement with the orders of Dr. Mark (Mehrdad) Ferdowsian but that he is just an employee at the clinic and its not his decision. The office manager was extremely rude when we questioned this practice and just kept saying that our insurance pays most of it so why be concerned. well we are concerned, we believe this is fraud to order test with no reason or all i can think of for reason is profit for them, else in the doctors eyes, everyone is criminal no matter what any test show or past medical history shows. For me, i think the criminal is Sunset Clinic and I would like to warn others to go elsewhere and if I can figure out how to have the legal world look into this practice they will find some shifty things going on.

If whoever reads this can POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION as to what legal department in the state would be concerned with this I would appreciate it.
Thank you,

Joseph and Helen .
