Operated on my mother for a hysterectomy.
3 days later my mother was in ICU with sepsis.
Pilkington had nicked my mothers bowel during the hysterectomy and then stitched her wound.
She was close to death but survived.
Not even an apology or any acknowledgment that it was his doing.
I’m sure he would be responsible for a few deaths.
But the thing is, Drs bury their mistakes.
And the medical profession cover each other’s backs.

Thanks to Dr. Pilkington, my partner has been waiting 8 months for surgery. Apparently, he 'misplaced' the original referral, which was never even discussed with me or my partner. After getting the run around from his staff, I called Pilkington directly, only to be told he- 'did all he could' and It was no longer his responsibility. My partner is in pain and she's scared....this surgery has been delayed only due to this man's incompetence, lack of urgency and inability to even accept responsibility for his mistakes. Now my partner is back to square one. I am seeking legal counsel and will be taking matters further- people are more than a number or a paycheck-. This is unacceptable.

Very unpleasant experience many years ago at Auckland NationalWomens Hospital with this doctor. I have kept away from any further assessments/public hospital treatments ever since. Dr D Pilkington makes arrogant assumptions of patients which are completely wrong. This affects his overall treatment plan - I don't think he likes dealing with people much. Avoid this doctor if possible

The worst gynecologist I've ever dealt with. Arrogant and takes no responsibility for mucking up procedures. He has no care in the world for his patients and he should be revoked of his practicing license. DO NOT go to this medical "Professional"

Don't ever be sedated while Pilkington has a scalpel in his hand. More Jack The Ripper than 'surgeon'.
