Was referred to Dr Davidson. We had a phone consult and then he wanted to refer me to another respirologist, based on inaccurate information for where I live. Very disappointing.

I have been seeing Dr Davidson off and on for many years now; both at Jim Patterson and now at his new office. He has been very helpful and knowledgeable and every test he has ordered has been explicitly explained before hand and some have even been ordered "just to make sure". Once he receives the results, he has always called to review the findings. All his recommendations have been very helpful and I have been able to thrive with his guidance.

Was sent to Dr. Davidson fom Emergency with a breathing problem but not so bad image on xray. He said he would send me for a number of tests, including breathing test. I did the first CT scan. Then he disappeared, never called, never followed up, my GP got a copy of the report which said an infection was pushing through my lungs. It passed months and my symptoms got worse, was wheezing and coughing blood. When I called Dr Davidson's clinic and asked why he did not follow up with me and other tests he literally told me that he was afraid I would infect the machines. He then asked me if my GP gave me medication for pneumonia. He then asked me to repeat the tests. By this time my lungs had been scared and got worse on the xrays. I had a strong feeling of discrimination from him from the beginning. He is also very negligent from my experience. I think if he cared then my lungs could not have ended up where they are now. I dont know what one has to look like or sound like for him to care. I am glad he later sent me for further tests to get a diagnosis. Dr Davidson I think is very knowledgable in his area of speciality but very negligent and discrimanatory, maybe even racist. Dont go to him "if you dont look like him", he will neglect you. I was very hurt to hear him say that the reason he did not follow up with me for further tests was because he was afraid I would infect the machines. Meanwhile the infection got worse and lungs damaged further. That just sounds ethically wrong. I would have taken that if he was actually doing something instead to help, but not neglect. Avoid! if you can.

My first visit with Dr. Davidson. I found him to be personable and helpful. I did not find him condescending as others have. But we all rate experiences differently depending on our experiences.

Patronizingly well spoken doctor, but NOT dependable. Never in town (back East) , does NOT return calls. No faith, nor trust in this delinquent doctor.
(Agree with Apr.20/18 poster,.... do NOT go to this doctor!)

Always informative and easy to talk to. Never condescending and always answers any question without you feeling he was one step out of the office and in to the next patient.

Do not visit this doctor if you value your life. My husband was sent to this doctor with a lesion in his lung. Dr. Davidson called it cancer from the beginning. It could not be biopsied because of the location. This doctor was fixated on finding out what kind of cancer it was. Because he could not get a biopsy he just sent my husband for pet scans and CT scans. This doctor would say one thing and do another. He said that any surgeon would need to know what kind of cancer it was. Huge lie!!! When he finally after 18 months sent my husband to the thoracic surgeon (after I got upset with him) the cancer had spread. My husband was getting pain in an area that we later found out was cancer in the bone which had spread from the cancer in his lung. The surgeon said that they do not have to find out what kind of cancer it is. If it sounds like a duck it is a duck. Unfortunately my husband was dead in 6 months. I do not know why Dr. Davidson treated my husband with no urgency. Follow up from tests was extremely slow waiting 6 to 8 weeks each time. You just can not treat cancer or patients with such indifference. Even his staff made a big mistake which set us back weeks.

My appointments have been through Jim Pattison Out-Patient Clinic; however, I have been seeing Dr. Davidson for >2 yrs now and find him to be an excellent physician. Great knowledge, listening ability and explains what is going on. The staff at JP are the best, so you can't go wrong here...
