Biography
Dr. Andrew Scheman is a board certified dermatologist in private practice with special expertise in dermatologic and cosmetic products, patch testing for the diagnosis of cosmetic and occupational allergic contact dermatitis, and occupational dermatology. He is the author of 8 editions of Pocket Guide to Medications Used in Dermatology (one of the most widely used medical references for dermatologic products), Cosmetic Buying Guide (by Consumer Reports Books), and a total of 77 medical publications and medical journal articles. Dr. Scheman has served on the Board of Directors of the American Contact Dermatitis Society, was the Chicago Dermatologic Societys Practitioner of the Year in 2012 and was the Alexander Fisher Lecturer for the American Contact Dermatitis Society in 2015.His current positions also include Associate Professor of Clinical Dermatology at Northwestern University and director of the American Contact Dermatitis Societys CAMP (contact allergen management program) database. His previous positions include Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Johns Hopkins University and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Loyola University.Dr. Scheman has been featured as an expert in the field of cosmetics on The Today Show, Good Morning America, ABC's 20-20, Dateline NBC, and CNN News, as well as in numerous magazines, newspapers, and radio and TV programs.
