They never even saw me in person. I find that ridiculous. I only ever zoomed with a P.A. They would literally last a few minutes at a time, just long enough to prescribe another medication. 4 different meds that either made me feel suicidal or uncontrollable fear! After waiting a month for my last appointment she wanted to try the same kind of medication and I refused. Which her response was I'm going to discontinue to treat you. Instead of ever helping me she did the absolute least as possible. Then 5 days later she sends me a letter stating non compliance and discounters treatment of herself and staff! 100% a lie and completely ridiculous! It amazes me that of instead of helping me they would just give up and then blame me for their incompetence. I would definitely recommend that you find treatment elsewhere. The system is broken and I can honestly say this place is part of the problem.

I am a long-time patient of Dr. Mendiola’s and feel he is a competent and trustworthy and astute psychiatrist. His staff treats me with kindness and compassion when I have had questions or concerns. I feel some of these comments regarding the staff or Mendiola’s patient interactions are lacking intellectual humility. I saw two other shrinks and had a negative experience. Dr. Mendiola is far and beyond capable of taking on any psychiatric case presented to him.

I have been a patient of Dr. Mendiola’s for over 15 years for bipolar depression/treatment resistant depression. I have meds on board, am a TMS patient, and recently received ketamine treatment. I’m a doozy of a patient. But Dr. Mendiola has held steadfast in my care. I appreciate his support and advocacy on my behalf. I feel he is a phenomenal psychiatrist! He saved my life with his advanced medical knowledge. He has a passion for bringing top-notch psychiatric care to our community, and has inspiring perseverance in personal patient care. It took me being a responsible and compliant patient, committed to having respectful back-and-forth communicative relationship with Dr. M, along with advocating my own mental health needs to be the reasonably healthy patient I am today under his care. Reading these negative reviews saddens me and sound like non-compliant patients with an opinion on their mental health, and not the facts about their mental health. You have to take an active role in being just as much an educated and responsible patient as he is in being a knowledgeable and responsible doctor. When a psychiatrist shows you your blind spots in your mental health, it’s for your benefit. Not theirs. You can either see Dr. Mendiola and be regarded with respect. Or see another psychiatrist and just be 10:30 on a Tuesday. You choose. Either way- your psychiatrist is going to probably refer you back to Mendiola for TMS or Ketamine ultimately. That’s where science is going. And Dr. M is safely leading the charge.

After a long process of filling out applications and setting meetings, Dr. Mendiola began our meeting by saying he would not prescribe me my dose of medication without listening to why I got to this dosage or even approaching me as a person with a history and medications that may have been ill prescribed.
It was appalling. In the end I was actually ok to lower my dosage but he didn't care to even listen to me.
I have seen many psychiatrists in my life and this one by far has won the worst award.

His reasoning was that he was referencing some website Epocrates and this holy resource did not recommend my dosage.

He did not make me feel like a patient or client but rather a thing that received medications only. I have not been made to feel this insignificant in a while.

I was referred by a friend and sadly disappointed and didn’t feel comfortable . Maybe, it would of been better to have an in person for first meeting. Just wasn’t a good fit .

I would highly recommend Dr. Lee. I'm a sleep walker. Under his care I haven't had a episode. The staff is kind and understanding.

Great service from Dr. Mendiola and his office staff. His treatment takes a no-nonsense approach. Scheduling is easy. Zoom sessions are easy. Dr. Mendiola has helped me very much. I do not hesitate in recommending Dr.
Mendiola.

Absolutely incompetent staff. It's dangerous the way they treat people with mental illness. My heart and love goes to you if you and your family were affected by them. It's always worth finding help If you have mental health issues. Please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else! Find a doctor and office staff that work well together and are focused on mental health, not your pocketbook. Shame on you Mandiola and staff. I know I'm not the only one that feels like this about you. In my opinion and many others, you have no business being in practice. Who employs a doctor that sends people to psychics. You're dealing with people with mental illness, not Idiots. I'm so glad I have a strong family and I got the help I needed I almost didn't make it. I hope everybody you treat like that has a strong family that can help because I don't know how they made it out on their own.

Doctor Mendiola has been a life saver in helping me through some horrible stuff, I would normally not write a review to protect my anonymity, but Dr. Mendiola is a fantastic doctor, and because of his help, I am doing extremely well and I'm very thankful to have him as my doctor!
