I too had an IME with Dr. Barnard only I had someone that went with me. I felt he did not want to be in the room with me, and hurried through the exam. It was interesting to see him do a sprint across the room from examining me to making notes in the chart. I knew how he would rate the IME before I ever stepped foot in the door! Yes it is very sad to think that the state would have on their staff and pay doctors like these to discredit those who are suffering in pain.

Unfortunately, my husband was double teamed ( worker comp provider made appt's ) with Dr. Barnard, Ortho Surgeon and Neurologist( ???) This doctor , Barnard, is more than likely booked beyond his care , capabilty , and has no real concerns, if you are not his patient. Scary , to think he gets paid and could care less. I know I am in the wrong biz. . You can go with him or not. I prayed not to see him again. There are WONDERFUL Orthopedic Surgeons in Spokane, Dr. Shawn Peterson, the best 10 STAR !!!Good Luck !!

I saw Dr. Barnard for an IME regarding my lower back injury. They re-scheduled the appointment which I agreed to. I provided a large packet of information on my back and they did not want to even look at it initially. I repeatedly offered to show Dr. Barnard documents from the packet, but he NEVER ONCE would allow this. Dr. Barnard disagreed with what I told him one of my doctors said. Dr. Barnard seemed rushed and did not seem to take many notes on what I had told him and was more interested in going through his list. Dr. Barnard yelled often. I think Dr. Barnard wanted me to leave and said at the start, if you are not going to cooperate you can leave. This appears to be a strategy he uses. I would suggest being at ease and expecting this. I sent him a follow up fax that included information I did not get to provide or thought he did not take notes when I told him. This fax should help to keep the record strait.

This was anything but an "INDEPENDANT" evaluation. His sole purpose was to try and debunk my condition and pain. Before he even perfomed the physical evaluation he sat there trying to pretend that I was faking it. No real Doctor should ever be paid to treat a patient the way he did me. If you have to see this guy, make sure you get an attorney first!

This examiner was hired by Intermountain Claims/Inland Medical Eval to conduct my IME on my back/hip/legs. This examiner did not let me finish a statement nor allow me to use the words of 'Occupational Disease' without actual rage coming from him. This person should not have MD after his name and should not be allowed to practice ANY type of medical setting. This is the worst interaction I have ever had with any medical examiner. Stay away from this person as he is hostile and has no intention of actually doing his job.

A friend of mine saw this Dr today. He was supposed to be a independent medical examiner and treated her like she was a crimial and being fraudulant in claiming that she was hurting. Based on what she said, I would NEVER refer anyone to this doctor who not only had no bedside manner but was arrogant, rude, and antagonistic.

I was sent to this doctor as part of a so-called "independent" medical exam. He came in the room, was VERY rude, yanked and pulled my sore arms around without saying a word to me. He then huffed and left the room. When I got my report back, he had made up some bogus findings which included his opinion that I was lying about my injury. He didn't even ask me any questions! He just told the insurance company what they wanted to hear- forget the patient! Don't trust this man.
