My experience was also negative. The doctor was arrogant, rude and I woke up after surgery in a basement of St Peters looking at the dripping water from the ceiling. When I said I continued to have back problems after the surgery he sent me to another doctor who treated me as if it were psychosomatic! I don't recommend him.

Saw him several times over a 2 year period and was not impressed. The first couple of times I waited hours past my appointment time only to be told there are emergencies that occur that need his attention. I'm okay with that but I'd rather reschedule than have to wait so long, my time is improtant too. Bed side manner stinks, he is arrogant beyond belief and not truthful on my medical records. I requested radiologist reports on 2 MRI I had done there and coincidentally got his reports too. He failed to mention his reccomended surgery, which was scheduled with his nurse after the 1st MRI. Instead his notes for the visit said "patient is responding well to anti inflammatory drug". What a crock. I wouldn't trust him.

I got in to see him 5 min early and he came in a little late and immediately apologized for being 10 minutes late. Got right to the point and gave me great information. Answered all my questions in a very pleasant manner.

I read those negative comments and just thought it could not be the same man who helped me so much. At 28, Dr. Cheney has done both my back surgeries and has allowed me to be what a normal 28 year old should be. He answers every questions and during my spinal fusion saw me everyday and NEVER acted as though he had anywhere else to be. He saved my life.

I read recent negative comments and had to respond. Have worked with Dr. Cheney for 4-5 years. He is a friendly, caring physician who encouraged me to make my own decisions and move at my own pace. Dr. Cheney performed Laminectomy Jan. '07 for sciatic problems. Completely successful operation. Dr, Cheney is part of a very busy practice but he always answered all questions from both my wife and me and showed warmth and thoughtfulness. I have recommended him to several friends and they all have had positive experiences.

I find Dr. Cheney to be an obsolutely POOR physician. I work in healthcare and I deal with physicians all day. He has absolutely THE WORST bed side manner I have ever encountered. Most questions I asked him he ignored. The ones he did answer he replied by barking at me. I thought it was me and that maybe I had done something to upset him. Later I learned from a collegue that he is rude to EVERYONE including his O.R. Staff. I told my primary what had happened and he told me "I didnt refer you to him, I referred you to one of his partners. Why did they make you see him? I would never send you to that crusty old fool" Later for you "Bob" you are a deplorable person and I will tell as many people as I can, and in as many forums as I can that you are completely incompetent and flat out MEAN.
