I was medevac'ed to Straub from Kauai after suffering a heart attack. Dr. Kai explained my situation to me and addressed all my concerns. He performed an angioplasty and placement of a stent. The following morning his team explained how the operation went and detailed the medications, diet, and lifestyle changes I'd need to adhere to Although it was Saturday, Dr. Kai stopped by armed with b&w printouts from the angiograms. He was patient and friendly and took the time to answer my questions. 24-hours after first being admitted into the ER in Kauai, I was released from Straub Honolulu. My wife and I had 6 hours to kill before our flight back to Los Angeles (from our dream Hawaiian vacation!) so we took a cab to our hotel then walked a mile to see "Bridesmaids". The insertion point for the angioplasty was a tiny hole by my crotch that healed within a day or two. I consider myself the luckiest fellow on the planet to have gone "under the blade" of Dr. Wesley Kai.

Dr, Kai took me in an emergency for my heart and I look upon him as very knowledgeable. I had to have angoplasty and we had just arrived in Honolulu. I will always go to him when we are there to visit. I think very highly of him and very thankful.
