I recently had oral surgery done by Dr. Slater. This was the second time I was under his care. I was stunned when interring the front office to see they were not wearing mask during this time of covid. My husband had dropped me off not wanting to be in waiting room so long due to covid. I had my mask on but no one else in small waiting room had on a mask. Nor was their plexiglass between me and receptionist. I didn’t know what to do. I was scheduled for oral surgery. The staff that came to take me back had a mask on but it was on her neck. As I walked back I saw several staff but all the same mask on neck. I was taken in a room and the assistant also mask not in place. Dr splatter came in and spent time with me explaining the procedure and my options. He wasn’t wearing a mask or social distancing. I just couldn’t believe this was happening. I should have spoke up and said I didn’t think this was professional for a health facility at this risky time. I am very aware that Blount county doesn’t require mask, Knowing that this was a oral surgeon I thought they would be taking the upmost care to protect not only their patients but their staff. Very disappointed!

Incredible experience. Thank goodness we still have a few professional, compassionate and capable physician's out there!!! This Doctor and his staff have mastered patient care AND customer service!!!

I had a very serious perio problem that involved the removal of 4 teeth including two very imbedded and totally involved wisdom/molar teeth. Dr. Slater and staff made the procedure as uneventful and painfree as possible. I was extremely pleased that it was much less traumatic than I had anticipated and my recovery was quite good. Overall, the experience was excellent. Dr. Slater is a very enthusiastic, animated and proactive individual. He made a great effort to explain the procedure, answer my questions and assuage my concerns. He and his staff have a great facility with very modern equipment that is very patient friendly. I continue to receive great care from Dr. Slater and staff. Siskel and Ebert "two thumbs up"!

Dr. Slater explained everything to me, exactly what he would be doing and why; I felt more than comfortable. Nurses were also very kind. I was referred to Dr. Slater by my general dentist with high regard, and I see why. Go to Dr. Slater if you need an oral/maxillofacial surgeon!

Very polite and understanding of ALL my health conditions. Never been so relaxed at an Oral Surgeon. Am sending all my friends and family to him. Was referred by a Dentist that was just as knowledgeable and helpful. She said they would treaty me well and they DID.
