Please don’t just go assuming and do test your patience.

We took our 12 year old son to ER for abdominal pain and saw Dr. Ivan. When we told him that our son had been to his pediatric doctor two times and ER once in one week , still had a terrible pain in his stomach , fainted on the toilet , and lost 6 ponds in one week Dr. Ivan gave him medication for his upset stomach and accused him of faking his pain. Told us that if one of his 3 sons were like him he would and he pretended with his hands like he is shooting a rifle. We came home with no idea why and what makes our son so sick. Next day we took him to GI doctor who after a simple stool test called us today that he tested positive for H.pylori. Unfortunately we waisted 5 more days for the diagnosis since he after going to the bathroom in ER he could not go until 3 days later. He could not eat much do to his abdominal pain so he did not have bowl movement. If Dr.Ivan took him seriously and tested him for this we would be giving him Antibiotic almost the next day and not wasted more time. He was rude and disrespectful to my husband and I and even to our son. One of the nurses asked him what is going on in school and what do we want them to do for him?. If we ever have to take our son to ER it would never be Capital Health in Hopewell N.J Every parents nightmare when you child is sick and not knowing how to help him and the doctor that does not believe your child. We will be praying for Dr. Ivan and his patients.

Fabulous doctor. My child thought he was great. He no longer practices in Neptune though. We were very sorry to see him move from the area. I can echo the other comments from other ratings. Very generous with his time. Always remembered the details such as difficulty with swallowing pills, insurance coverage of certain meds. Quick to return phone calls for anything we needed to know. Everyone else in the office was wonderful too, right from our first visit. My child was very scared back then & Dr. Darenkov & the nurses made him comfortable. We couldn't ask for anything more except for him to still practice in our area. We got a quick diagnosis. He is very knowledgeable in his field. Even though it was a very busy office, we were never made to feel like a number. Great bedside manner, very approachable. When my child was in the hospital, came to explain everything in detail. Saw him couple of times a day sometimes. Absolutely nothing negative to say.

Wonderful doctor. Thoroughly explains things and is very knowledgeable and patient. Always friendly. Seems to genuinely enjoy his work. Takes his time and asks questions. Highly recommended.
