This woman should not be able to practice medicine. She has no consideration for how drugs might interact with one another, and she has continually ignored refill requests (that I know she can complete with a couple of clicks) due to being "busy" or "out of the office". If you're a mental health prescriber, and the only one on staff at a clinic, you have to be prepared to complete those scripts, even out of the office. It is simply part of the job. Her admin staff are a complete joke. I don't blame them, though, because they likely have to deal with far too many client requests, because she's a giant pill pusher, with no real consideration for her patients' overall wellbeing. Hopefully she will be stripped of her license to practice if enough people for complaints. Here's the website for anyone interested: https://medicalboard.iowa.gov/physicians/enforcement

She seems to have complete apathy towards her patients. She has an alarming misunderstanding of certain medications and can’t shut up about certain meds that don’t work. She wants you to shut up, take your refill, and leave. She doesn’t put two seconds of thought into what she prescribes. She tells you these ineffective meds will eventually solve everything and to stop trying to get to the right combination of medicine. She’s on autopilot and if you want to speak with a person who is actually mentally in the same room, then go elsewhere

Dr Davids always listens closely to me when telling her of any current meds or condition difficulties. Very up-to-date on latest research and treatments and explains thoroughly if I have questions. Always open to finding new methods of treatment and sometimes researches a possibility that I bring up right there with me. She is always very compassionate. She was very glad to talk with my spouse who I brought unexpectedly and was very thorough in gathering more information and impressions. I can't say enough how glad I am to have found a psychiatrist who works in partnership with me.

Here is the letter I emailed....My name is ..... and I am ...... step mom. We had an appointment today at 11:15 that obviously did not go well. I made the appointment myself and told them I was his step mom and wanted to get some information about what meds he was on and get some help understanding them. We got there at 11:17 and had to wait in line 3 ahead of us.... then given paperwork which made us later. Your first comment was that we were late and our time limited so I feel you had an attitude from the start. I apologize for being late but all doctor, dentist appts etc things happen and you have to adjust. My entire visit was to learn about his meds and to see how I can help ...... He has been confused trying to explain them to me so I thought it would be easier to make an appointment. He has been in a bad place for a long time now. I am not a doctor and do not understand or know what to do. You telling me ...... is an adult and it is HIS session was very condescending. Well right now it does not matter if he is 25 or 5 years old he needs help. Also telling me you have been with him for 3 years and care about him. I have been in his life since he was 9 months old and I probably know him a little better than you. Your attitude toward me put ....... in a very awkward and stressful position. I really do not care of you like me or not I was there to get some understanding of his meds and let you know he is not always honest with you or his Mom. He is at a very low place after out last counseling session together. And if you would have taken the time to listen I would have told you why we have gone together. He will be doing sessions alone and I understand that benefit. I am not an idiot.

There are more professional ways to get your point across if you wanted to just talk with ....first then answer my concerns later. Because aren't we both here for .....? You completely dismissed me and would not even look my direction. Telling me to stop interjecting and that it is ...... appt etc. was very rude. We can get any doctor to prescribe meds and I am appalled at your putting me in my place attitude. I was never trying to tell you what meds to prescribe. I didn't even know what he was taking! but I do think it was very important for you to hear what happened with him thru my eyes and not only .......

I just cannot believe this is how you talk to people. Unbelievable!! After that session you still do not know what is going on with him. You ask your pre rehearsed questions and write out your scrips. If we needed to make another appt to talk because of time restrictions no problem.

Well I hope when ...... comes in for his follow up you will be professional and not bring anything up. IF he comes to you again. I tried to make him feel better and apologize for putting him in that position and told him you must have been having a bad day. There is no excuse for how you treated me in front of someone who has been and is very depressed/ suicidal. Again how do you talk to his family like that in front of him!

If he wasn't so comfortable with you I would not have him return. Obviously you do not see that the patient may not be telling you everything. I am sure you have your share of parents thinking they know better or telling you what to do but that was never my intent. I was very excited to come and learn about his meds and get him help.

Be sure I will tell everyone about you and your business. Any doctor can write prescriptions..... better look into your bedside manner

How is she a doctor? She contradicts herself in the same sentence! She is fast and loose with her prescription pad and then claims that everything she prescribes has "no side effects." It also feels like she pushes particular medicines because of relationships with drug companies. She robotically asks questions that seem like they are from a quiz in a magazine and then doesn't even listen to the answers. If you know what you need for meds and just want quick appts to get your refills, she's your gal. If you actually want medical advice and care, or have little experience with medications, you'd be best to avoid her. There's a reason why she's the only psychiatrist in the area you can see in a few days instead of being on a months-long waitlist.

Dr. Davids did not listen to me. She made assumptions about my situation, about how I felt, and about what medicine to prescribe without first asking me more than a couple questions. I did not have an opportunity to bring up concerns. When I tried to ask questions, she either blew them off or minimized my concerns. I had a bad experience with a medication she prescribed. It took an entire appointment to get her to listen to my symptoms and be convinced to change to a different med. I have never had an experience like this with any other doctor.

I am not entirely sure how this M.D. graduated. She couldn't diagnosis me correctly, did not spend, but 10 minutes with me, could not remember any of the 6 medications she tried to prescribe and ended up saying an upbeat compliment to me that I heard her say to the woman ahead of my appointment. Wow...

I have had nothing but success with Dr. Stacy Davids! I really like her! My family of 5 has been treated by her. I have three people in the family that are on the Autism Spectrum (Asperger's Disorder) and two with ADHD. She knew what the number one medications were for Autism and it has helped both my son and husband and now they are much more verbal. My son has had trouble with his temper (He doesn't know any better because of his Autism...) and the medications have made all the difference! My other son was having tons of behavioral trouble in school as well as academic. Dr. Stacy Davids is the one that said she thought he had ADHD. He is now on a low dose of medication and has made a complete turnaround! He is one of the best students in class! This wouldn't have happened if it weren't for the help of Dr. Davids! Our whole family loves her! Those of you that are complaining about medications....this is what a psychiatrist does! They do not counsel or provide therapy! They are medical doctors that work with the brain chemistry! You have to try different psychiatric medications to find the right dose and to know what your issues are. Psychiatrists do not have machines that tell them what the levels of serotonin or dopamine are in the brain. Due to the intricacies of the human brain, they have to make their best guess based on what the family says and what they have clinically seen. I teach psychology at a community college and many of your responses concerning Dr. Stacy Davids are very uneducated. Please look up what a psychiatrist is supposed to do before writing mean things about people. This is a human being and a professional and needs to be treated as such!

She's awful. She shouldn't have a medical license. Not helpful in any way shape or form. Loves to prescribe medications, but in strange combinations. Doesn't explain why she's doing what she's doing.

Psychiatrists are a dime a dozen but good ones are not. Stacy Davids is proof of that. I truely wish I could give 0 or negative stars..
Without being vulgar(I wish I could be), this lady is an idiot. I would LOVE to see the website she got her medical degree from. She doesn't take her patients seriously, at least I'll assume it wasn't just me. She put me on a cocktail of meds that interact in a clinically significant way and increase your risk of seizures, but was I asked if I had a history of seizures? No.
She mocked me, called me names, made snap decisions about my character, yet didn't ask any questions. And that was on the second visit.
Her patients are scheduled every 15 minutes, she loves to use her prescription pad, probably gets kickbacks from the drug companies from all the drug plaques she has in her office, and she is apparently under the impression that medications have no side effects.
I would probably send my worst enemy to see Stacy. This woman is the pinnacle of stupidity. I really don't understand how she still has a license to practice. And I'm not sure that she is capable of empathy... Which, Ya know is a little important when you're a psychiatrist. Maybe she doesn't have to care because she makes so much money for prescribing meds, maybe she prescribes too many for herself, maybe she's just stupid. I don't know. The only thing I do know is I won't continue to be her paient, and any nice reviews about her are Stacy herself writing them. I wish I could use stronger language to express my anger towards Stacy but I want people to know she's awful so I held back.
