C4-5 Anterior disk surgery.
Extremely intelligent and confident. No need to chat and small talk.
He’s all business and damn good at that.
EVERYONE I spoke to said he’s the best and we are lucky to have him.
They are correct.
Everyone at Deaconess Gateway was amazing and surgery was a success .
Can’t say enough about how great a surgeon this man is.

My son was diagnosed with a low-grade, slow-growing glioma early part of last year. We were referred to Dr. Troffkin and appreciated the time he took to explain everything to us. Very happy with how he treated my son along with us as we have walked this path with cancer.

Dr Troffkin is a very good surgeon and person. It is very hard for anyone in his specialty to have time to generate that bond with patients. He is my Neurosurgeon of choice, I have seen him smile. I do not doubt whether or not he is a good person or even a caring one, his God given talents and dedication say it all., Rev. Fred G. Hoagland

Dr Troffkin is very well trained, experienced and competent Neurosurgeon that focuses on brain issues. His communication leaves some to be desire, he's not going to leave the room making you feel like he cares about you. In the end this in not the point, you need a good outcome not a new friend.

If you are looking for someone to be your best friend, find another surgeon. If you are looking for one of the best Neuro surgeons in the country see Trofkin. He is not going to sugar coat anything and he is not going to talk to you about your personal life. He has one thing in mind treating what is wrong with you and having a successful surgery. He is not here to make friends with you, he is here to save lives.

Dr Troffkins is very rude ,arrogant and pompous! I don't understand why Evansville would tolerate a man like this. Lack of choices ?
I have a back injury that has changed my life. I ask a simple question before I can finish asking he would answer what he thought my question would be. He told me I am a prime candidate for a back fusion but he will not do the surgery if I don't quit smoking,no explanation no understanding. I have to wait a month to get the CT scan. And my next appointment to be treated this way ? Maybe he's just having a bad day but after reading all the reviews on this site it looks like he talks down to everyone of his patients if that's how he is in his office I could just imagine how he is in the operating room Half-assed ,in a hurry and does not care about his patient. This is not for me!
I am going to get another referral and find a different doctor. Why would anybody put up with this, read all the other reviews and you can clearly see this is not an isolated incident he is a mediocre surgeon in a little town.
If you keep your appointment with this man after reading all these reviews you can't say you weren't warned

Absolutely ridiculous. I have never felt so insulted in my life. My family doctor sent me to him after discovering a lesion on my brain. His assistant came in, asked 3 questions and left. Troffkin came in, introduced himself, promptly advised me that I was healthy and left in a hurry. Yep, that's why I'm still in debilitating pain daily. Thanks, "doc"
