I met Dr. Au on June 14,2022 to discuss issues with a 2016 total hip replacement I had done in Corner Brook. Six Orthopedic Surgeons later I finally found my miracle Doctor Keegan Au! On July 18, 2022, I underwent a Right Hip Revision Surgery performed by Dr. Au with assistance from his Team of Professionals. The surgery was successful without any complications or any surgical pain. My issues have been completely corrected from the surgery and Dr. Au gave me my quality of life back again. Dr. Au is truly a wonderful, caring human being and I was very fortunate and will be ever thankful of his kindness and professional strength and knowledge during my health involvement with Dr. Au! From his staff to his surgical support team and onto Dr. Au, I have truly been blessed to have had such a wonderful successful outcome through the caring and professional hands of Dr. Au!

Dr. Au replaced my ruptured ACL. He is such a lovely person and a wonderful doctor. I had no complications and no one could believe I even had surgery based on how quickly it healed and how little swelling I had. I feel very lucky to have had him as my surgeon. You are in very good and caring hands with Dr. Au.

Dr. Au was a very pleasant surgeon to talk to, his knowledge of my full hip replacent was very assuring, i felt very safe with him, and his staff were like no other. My surgery went quick and well, he wheeled me into the surgery room himself, and was met by one of his staff. After surgery, he came to the recovery to assure me that the surgery went well, called my husband to inform him i was out of surgery. The next morning he was up to my room to check to see how i was doing, very friendly and so comfortable to talk to. I would recommend Dr. Keegan Au without hesitation.

Dr. Au performed an ACL reconstruction for me in 2017. 2 years after the surgery I was still experiencing issues with my knee popping out of place, even after extensive rehab training. I was referred to a surgeon who specializes in knee issues. After examining a fresh MRI and X-ray my current surgeon alerted me that my previous ACL reconstruction, performed by Dr.Au, was done incorrectly and led to the new ligament never properly connecting. When I asked my new surgeon how he could tell, he pointed out the bolt that Dr.Au had inserted into my knee that should have been close to a 45 degree angle … it was close to 80 degrees. 4 years after the initial surgery I’ve had to have the initial bolt drilled out and the cavity filled with bone marrow so that they can insert the new bolt on the proper angle during my second (and hopefully final) ACL reconstruction. I’ve been unable to resume sporting activities for 4 years, missed out on sport related trips and have missed months of work (equating to thousands of dollars) with my recurring knee issues.

Dr. Au please re-educate yourself on how to properly perform an ACL reconstruction. This is not meant to demonize you as everyone makes mistakes, but it pains me to think that there are others that have been paying for your mistake for years.

I wouldn’t recommend Dr. Au based on my experience and hope this serves as a warning to others.
