I was 18 weeks pregnant and had an infection that my family doctor called about from hospital results and SCS never called to inform me. She refuses to see me when I have any pregnancy issues, when I call she says "go to the ER", which I've been 5 times, I can't continue to go to the ER... Also, the lack of communication is terrible! I would NOT recommend this office. To top this all off, when I was 8 weeks, at an ER visit I was told that I possibly had a cornual pregnancy which would have to be terminated, I was told to follow up with my OB the next day so she could review the ultrasound. I called the office all day long and left messages with everyone and had to go all weekend thinking I could be killed from a tube bursting or that my baby would have to be taken. The only reason I got through Monday was because I called and asked why I wasn't called back and raised my voice. That should have been my first sign. Not to mention... EVERY nurse and receptionist is extremely rude!! Dr. McCarren was very nice but waited until 21 weeks to go over my medical history.

I had been a patient of Dr. McCarren for 22 years, through all 4 of my children. I really respected her. During my last pregnancy she combined offices with SCS OB/GYN. The transfer was poor. Speaking with other patients from Women to Women we felt as if we were not welcome. At first we were told we would continue to see only the doctors from Women to Women, but that did not last. I had never even met the doc that delivered my son, because that was the doc that delivers at St. John for the entire SCS OBGYN practice. I do not like the policies of her new practice. They are horrible. I tried several times to contact her personally thinking that I was getting lost in the paperwork somewhere, without any response. It is 2014, a woman should not have to be on a waiting list for 7 months to get birth control. Left the practice, had my consult one week and the IUD appointment the next week. Love my new OBGYN! Bye, Bye McCarren! Sorry I wasted 22 years with you.

Too many patients. Not enough time. Has a P.A, do all her work- will stop in for 5 minutes of an appt. Called me after a miscarriage "diagnosis" (made by her PA) and said I had a blighted ovum- next day found that the baby was 6 1/2 weeks. She either has too much going on or doesn't care... def. would NOT recommend.
