I have had foot problems for years. Dr. Stibal tried many things, and as a last resort, we did surgery. It was effective and he is professional, knowledgeable, and caring. I would recommend him 100%

Had right toe fusion surgery in November of 2017. 3.5 weeks after surgery, Dr Stibal said I could already start walking in a boot and rolling through my toe....well.....I tried doing this but experienced excruciating pain and decided to wait until I saw him again at my next post op (3-4 weeks) to make sure things were healing like they were supposed to. At my next post op I let Dr Stibal know I was still experiencing a lot of pain with walking and he told me the fusion looked solid and I should continue to work on walking on my foot in my boot and rolling through my toe to further my recovery. My foot continued to be painful and I requested an MRI and Dr Stibal agreed. Dr Stibal said the MRI looked fine and that this might just be a longer process for me before the pain subsides. Well, after 15-16 weeks I could still only walk a short distance and every step was very painful, I decided to get a second opinion with a doctor at TRIA Ortho in Blmtn. The doctor there (Mazucca) looked at my xray and immediately asked me to get a CT scan done as it didn't look right to him. I got the CT scan done and saw the doctor the following day and Dr Mazucca said my foot was not fused and it looked malaligned. I could not stand the pain or the toll on my ankle and knee this was causing, and asked to get into surgery asap. Dr MAZUCCA got me into surgery within 2 weeks and found the first fusion was set incorrectly, the hardware (1 piece) was put too deeply into the first bone, and it fell apart because it wasn't even fused after 17-18 week. I was walking on a mal aligned and NON fused toe for this entire time. I am super frustrated with Dr Stibal and feel he really wasn't listening to me when I continuously told him I couldn't walk and didn't have any room to roll my toe without major pain........Dr. Stibal would just look at me and smile as though I was imagining this whole thing and eventually I would get over it. SUPER painful experience and SUPER disappointed with this doctor.....CALL DR. MAZUCCA for your orthopedic needs....BE CAREFUL. I am now 2 weeks post surgery and looking forward to walking again "without pain". Thanks and Take Care

I went to Dr. Stibal a few years ago and paid over $300 for orthotics with the assurance he would do what is needed to make sure I could wear them. The orthotics never felt right and I went back for two adjustments until I finally gave up. I continued to suffer with the foot pain and reluctantly made an appointment with Dr. Stibal again, to see if he could in any way get these inserts to work. I felt forced to return to him because of the orthotic investment.

During the last appointment he talked to me about physical therapy, cortisone shots, surgery, etc. He said one orthotic looked too high -(he never looked at the other one) and took it away to shave it down. A few minutes later the nurse comes back with the orthotic in hand. I was stunned and asked “is he even coming back!?” Really, three years of not being able to wear these things and he sends it back with the nurse and doesn’t even have me try it on? So typical of my whole experience with him.

The nurse then proceeded to wrap my foot with tape. I have had my foot taped before and I kept telling her it was too loose and she kept arguing with me that it wasn’t. With my foot now wrapped I was so disgusted with yet another wasted $40 copay I stuck the orthotics in my purse and left. I get home, (the tape pulled off my foot when I took off my sock), proceed to put the orthotics in my shoes only to realize that since he only corrected one I now walk with a limp since the other orthotic is still the original height.

I selected him initially because his office is close to my work. A coworker was also suffering from foot problems and I warned her not to go to him. Unfortunately she already had. He signed her up for physical therapy appointments which did nothing and his next solution was surgery. She got a second opinion from another podiatrist who made her some inserts that are
working beautifully! I have an appointment with her doctor and am hoping to finally get some relief for my foot pain.

Keep looking for another doctor who wants to actually help you, not scam you on spending good money on orthotics you can't wear, therapy, and surgery you may not even need.

Good luck to you and I hope you are walking/running pain free soon :o)

I messed my foot up pretty bad a couple years back (damage to the ligaments, tendons and avascular necrosis), and had seen three different doctors before I went to Dr. Stibal. He worked with me on trying different treatments, but in the end recommended sclerosing alcohol injections. I was nervous about receiving a series of 7 injections in my foot (one a week), but I was desperate for relief. I'm happy to say that my foot is now 100% pain free for the first time in two and a half years. Dr. Stibal and his staff are caring, knowledgeable and dedicated to their patients. He is also just an all around great guy. I'm actually going to miss seeing he and his nurses. I highly recommend Dr. Stibal.

I have been a patient of Dr. Stibal's for well over 8 years. As a 17 year old girl with severe foot issues he was able to adapt my care to really meet my active live style. I was extremely stubborn when I was younger, and he was always very patient with me. He has came in on his evening off to do emergency surgery on me(I had a serious bone infection), after that surgery he was not on call but still came in the entire weekend to see me. He also came in on New Years Eve for a similar situation. He is very dedicated and cares about his patients. I honestly wouldn't let any other doctor touch my feet, and I have seen many other podiatrists.

I was contemplating bunion surgery over a year ago and met with Dr. Stibal - He has high integrity as he only encouraged this surgery if one was in pain and wouldn't let one get both feet done at the same time (he stated his job was easy (surgery), the hard part was recovery - doing both feet at the same time would compromise the recovery). I had bunion surgery on my left foot in Jan. and my right foot in Nov. I couldn't be more pleased. Dr. Stibal takes the time to educate and inform his patients and is warm and friendly. I highly recommend him.

Went in for plantar fascitis pain. Dr. Stibal started out by taping my feet for 3 days to see if it helped my pain go away - it did not help. He said that because the taping did not work I was not a candidate for orthotics and that he could not do anything else for me.... So, hear I sit with continued foot pain from the plantar fascitis and no idea what to do next.. Very frustratting!!!!

So I go in for planters facitis and his first recommendation is taping my foot to see if it helps , Now with the amount of hours I am on my feet a day that can't be changed because of running my own business and let me tell ya, the taping made situations worse so I went into the emergency room to try and treat the pain since Dr.Stibal thought it was ok for me to keep taking 3-4 800mg ibuprofens 4 times a day. The ER gave me vicadin to help out since I can't stop moving till after fall and to get me threw till I saw Dr. Stibal again. So I went back in today and told him that situations were worse and he recommended a shot in each foot. Problem is I don't do well with needles "haven't had a shot since I was 5" and I said that this wasn't an option. So he put one of my legs in a cast and basically told me because I work hard labor that he couldn't medicate the problem and basically to keep taking so much ibuprofen!!! I have bloody stool because of having to take so much and he saw no issu
