We were very satisfied with Dr. Walpert. She helped us feel assured that we were in good hands.

I was referred to Walpert for a herniated cervical disk that is causing severe pain and numbness in one arm and shoulder. I was told I could have surgery or physical therapy but no advice was offered as to which is more effective. I asked for pain management and was told to take an over the counter pain reliever! This was after I had already required Lortab simply to function! I told her I was nursing my daughter still and she said, "Well, just ask her pediatrician what to do." When I called back and asked for additional pain management I was prescribed an anti-seizure medication that does NOT manage pain, and an anti-inflammatory that is VERY dangerous to nursing babies - despite it being in my chart that I was still lactating. This medicine could have seriously hurt or killed my daughter. Do NOT go to this woman.

Arrived at office early. Waited over an hour to see Dr Walpert. I realize physicians are busy and don't always know the office has overbooked them. It would be nice, however, if I had been notified and been able to work my full shift. Isn't funny how patients are expected to arrive promptly and charged for missed visits, but when the shoe is on the other foot we have to just deal with it. Dr Walpert was very appologetic and I am confident in her knowledge and ability to care for me.

After reading some of the comments I felt compelled to write. Dr. Walpert is my father's neurosurgeon. She is AMAZING. He was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma. This is a devastating diagnosis for any family and she took great care with us. My father loved her. The doctors at Duke University Brain Tumor Center kept commenting on what an amazing job his neurosurgeon did on removing the tumor. She is the best... she is tough but for what she does this is what you want in a doctor.

I had 1 appt with dr Walpert. It was with the Nurse Practioner not the Dr.I came in with severe back and leg pain and numbness in my toes that was constant and numbness that would come and go up my leg. I was sent for an MRI a week later. I was told to give them 7 days. I called after 7 days and the nurse said nothing showed on the MRI so they sent me to get a nerve test. Well i called a few days after wanting to find out what was next since the nerve test didnt show anything. The nurse said i am so sorry it is taking so long. The doctor has been out of the office for 2 weeks and has not reviewed any of my results. WOW! Thats a different story from the first time i called. So after a month i finally got my results. The nurse said there was nothing on the MRI or Nerve test and that i would have to find another doctor because they could do nothing for me. What kind of doctor never sees their patient and doesnt try to help them???

General comment,It's indeed rare to find a good surgeon with an iota of bedside manners. That's why they become surgeons. They get along best just working on you while asleep!! Am scheduled to see her soon. Not sure I will but do believe her short-comings are the "nature of the beast!!!!

Dr. Walpert performed my brain surgery 12/02. She was very professional, answered all of my questions concerning the tumor, which helped in my decision. She was there for me after my surgery. She kept in constant contact with my primary physician. I was extremely depressed. I have been tumor free for 8 years. She has a very busy office with wonderful staff. I trust her knowledge and surgical skills.

Dr. Walpert is the most rude and unprofessional doctor I have ever encountered. After canceling my surgery a week before it was supposed to take place because she just wanted a day off and making me wait for over two hours for my pre-surgery appointment she came into the room SCREAMING at me for not understanding her busy schedule. I would not let this lunatic operate on anyone! She should have her license removed.
