After experiencing 8 weeks of extreme back pain from a herniated disc, I was referred to a spine specialist and chose Dr. Moshirfar. When I had my appointment at Orthopaedic and Spine Surgery Institute, I met with nurse Debora Feeney, who caused unnecessary delays in my care and treatment... During my appointment, she referred me to see a pain management specialist and recommended I get a steroid injection and receive physical therapy. However, she said I would first need to get clearance from my doctor who prescribes a particular medication to stop taking the medication for 2 days before and after an injection. It took me 2 weeks (while my pain became even more severe) until I could get an appointment with my other doctor. When I met with him to discuss this, he was furious with her, explaining that there’s absolutely no reason I would need to stop my medication since it has no drug interactions with the steroid treatment. On top of that, when I searched a doctor who provides Epidural Steroid Injections and Physical Therapy services, the first name that came up is Dr. Moshirfar of Orthopaedic and Spine Surgery Institute. Of course, I would prefer to streamline my care by receiving treatment at one facility to avoid waiting weeks to be seen as a new patient, having to fill out additional paperwork, and going through numerous additional evaluations by new providers. I don’t understand why Ms. Feeney would refer me to other providers when her office provides the services she recommended. That being said, I would caution anyone from this practice. I wasted energy, money, and extended the amount of time until I finally received pain relief from another specialist for 4 weeks after my appointment with Ms. Feeney.

If you want a doctor who will spend more than 5 minutes with you, then look elsewhere. Literally, I timed my appointment today where he was reviewing my MRI and X-Rays and it was 5 minutes and 34 seconds. (I never even received an explanation of my x-rays, I’m glad I paid to have them done). My first appointment with him was not even that long. There appeared to be no level of empathy or understanding what chronic pain is like, and how frustrating it is to have done conservative care since 2012 with worsening results. I understand my level of pain supposedly does not match up to my imaging results, but when I can’t stand long enough to make dinner without severe pain, and I can’t drive for more than 15 minutes without shooting pain down my leg and my feet tingling, somethings gotta give. I will be looking for a second opinion. I don’t want surgery, but I want compassion, someone who will actually listen to what I am telling him is going on, and a plan that isn’t the “same old” thing that I’ve been doing for 6 years.

Avoid this office at all costs. Today was my first experience there and I left feeling horrible. When I made this appointment I specifically said my hip was the main injury, and I had a slight pain that started in my spine. The nurse practitioner that saw me told me half way into my appointment that this office Only deals with the spine. I felt like that was very sneaky as you pay for the appointment before seeing the doctor. Then this nurse practitioner had the odassity to tell me "I look fine, so my pain can't be that bad." (I haven't had an MRI yet, so it's not like we know for sure what's wrong yet!) I just got injured 8 days ago.
Then she wrote me an order for an MRI and told me she can't prescribe me any pain medicine for this because my "Rx Profile" had 4 previous pain medicines I got in the last year. She brought this lap top showing me all this information. Well, she was wrong, she read 2 medications wrong, so it was now 2 times, and she asked me to go into detail about why I was prescribed pain pills in July and pain pills in December (which was actually cough syrup for my Walking Numonia I got the day after Christmas and had to be rushed to the hospital in an ambulance)
Anyways, after I explained how I had a huge cyst in July, she then told me, I'm just not willing to give you medication because your addictive history.
Oh yeah, my daughter was in the room... classy!

He doesn't have time for his clients at all.
He doesn't give you enough information.
I wish I could give his staff zero star.

Dr. Ali Moshirfar or whatever he is called is one of the worst physicians I have seen in my life. He is not a good doctor but a worst businessman. His first reaction to my daughter's spine problem was that if she was not good in six months we would do surgery. I think he wanted to score high by charging for unnecessary operation the insurance company. I am sorry and sad to see a person like Moshirfar exist as a physician; and sorry and sad for the authority who granted him his BUSINESS license.
